This is just a short fic, inspired by freckles lol. Not INCESTUOUS, simply brosis-ly love ^^ , between of course, my favourites- Ginny and Ron. Aunt Muriel has come over for a week and she's a scrutinizing pain in the arse. It's just about how the 9 and 10 year olds, still not even admitted in Hogwarts, cope one session. R/R :3. Pleaseeeee check out my other fanfic - Falling into Oblivion (d/g) :DDD TROLOLOLOLO.

The door was inched slightly ajar, allowing a dim shaft of light to penetrate into the small room. Yes it was in this dark room where 9 year old Ginny was crying profusely after a recent sparring session with the Weasely Cow- yes that's right, Muriel.

Even with the door barely open, the deafening remarks of Aunt Muriel were clearly audible "OH Merlin's beard!" she exclaimed "all these freckles everywhere and such a tiny house. How do you fit your kids in, Molly?".

"What's the matter Ginny?" a voice echoed in the tiny room. It was Ron. He didn't know what surprised him more- that fact that his baby sister was crying, or the fact that she had enough guts to do it in an eerie dark room.

"M-m-my freckles. You heard what Aunt Muriel said yesterday. It's going to be worse at Hogwarts. Nobody's gonna be friends with me, and they'll tease me!"

Ron seemed to ponder for awhile, and then he scooped Ginny in his arms, who was only vaguely smaller than him and sat on a stool near the window. "Look outside", he beckoned "the moon's really pretty tonight ain't it?"

"Isn't it always?" asked Ginny between sobs.

"Yeah", replied Ron, "and look closer it's got holes and dots and craters" he paused for a brief moment "there almost like freckles! And it's still pretty and-and lovely!" Ginny beamed, and her smile widened across her tear-stained face.

Ron began to think even more. "Now look at the pwetty-pwetty stars tonight. They're like freckles across the sky. Without them the sky would just be like an ugly black parchment or something". Ginny giggled, wiping away the tears on her cheeks. "And if anybody will make fun of you in Hogwarts" adding hastily- "which they won't" said Ron and continued vehemently "the entire Weasely family would gladly beat them up to pulp and when you're sad or happy just look outside your window!"

"But Muriel is such a-"

"Cow. I know."

"But you can't beat Muriel up can you?" asked Ginny in a questioning voice. Ron sighed and responded "sadly, NO. But there is one thing you can do".

He smiled and lifted up a particular hand gesture that glinted and shimmered in the moonlight; a hand gesture they'd soon learn in the years to come.

Ginny studied the finger in dazed awe and asked "what's that?"

"Dunno", replied Ron "But I've seen Fred, George and even Percy do it behind Aunt Muriel when she's not looking. I think I even saw Mum do it. I think it's the only thing that makes them stand her. I guess…" Ron contemplated the fact for awhile before saying, what he found incredibly philosophical "it's the only thing that keeps them from gouging out their eyes and jumping out from the nearest window" Smooth, Ron

He waited for Ginny's response who was now calmly observing how to flex her minuscule finger into that awe inspiring figure. After failing to hear any review on his findings it was now Ron's turn to ask the questions.

"What d'you reckon it means Ginny?"

The finger had ignited more curiosity in Ginny.

"I think…it means, patience", Ginny beamed

"Patience", they both mouthed in unison.
