She's said she loves him for tenth time (or is it eleventh?) but he cannot force the words to come out of his lips. Teeth clamp, vocal cords shrink, and he's left breathless and wordless in her presence. She knows it, though, she knows it perfectly well. Knows it from that look in his eyes in the early morning, from the tenderness in the tips of his fingers when he runs them in her hair and across her skin, from the half-swallowed whispers in the middle of the night when even the stars are sleeping.
He tells her in other ways.
'I treasure you above everything', 'I'll protect you', 'I'd die for you' 'You matter to me', 'Don't ever be sad.' 'Your smile can put the sun in shame' 'As long as I'm with you, nothing matters' 'You always look beautiful'.
Kyouhei isn't good at his words, but even though he hasn't said it, can't ever say it, Ruri understands him and smiles that special little smile she keeps specially for him.
