Sora was peacefully sleeping when suddenly he heard footsteps in the corridor which woke him up. (he had gotten used to being alert even in his sleep).

Instantly, he summoned his keyblade, ready to strike at whoever would open the door.

Before the door was opened though, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

- Calm down Sora, it's probably just Yuki or Kiri

That's when he realized he was home, no one was attacking him, and that Kairi was most probably true. He dismissed quickly his keyblade.

- Yes, you must be right, sorry for waking you up, I'm still not used, even after years of being home.

- It's okay Sora, as long as you don't do it in front of the girls, they'd probably be a little frightened.

- You know I'm always more careful when they're around

- Yes, I know, Kairi answered, wrapping her arms around him, now lie down and go back to sleep.

Though, at that moment, their door slowly opened.

- Mommy? Daddy?

They heard a girl's voice call, she was obviously frightened.

- Yuki, what's wrong? Kairi asked softly, recognizing the voice of her four years old daughter.

- I-I had a bad dream, she answered, as she started to cry

- Come here with mommy and daddy, everything will be okay, Sora said softly

Quickly, the small child climbed on the bed and went to cuddle with her mother.

- Shhh, it's okay sweetie, everything's okay, you're safe, it was just a bad dream, Kairi cooed, stroking her daughter's back soothingly.

Soon she had calmed down and was comfortably snuggled close to her mother.

- Sora, can you go check on Kiri, she's scared when she's alone, and she's too scared to cross the corridor alone in the night to come to our room if she can't sleep.

- I'll go check on her, don't worry Kai

He sat up and made his way toward the girls' room. When he entered, he heard soft whimper coming from one of the bed. Coming closer, he saw that his younger daughter (she is 3 years old) was hiding under her cover.

- Kiri, you're safe, don't worry, he said softly as he was slowly pulling on the cover to reveal Kiri's face, she seemed frightened, but it soon change to relief when she saw her daddy smiling at her gently.

- Daddy! She cried, raising her arms to indicate she wanted him to pick her up.

- Don't worry sweetie, he said, picking her up and holding her close to him.

- I was scawed, she cried

- Why?

- Because I was awone, and it was dawk

- Don't worry, you're not alone anymore, daddy's here, daddy's right here.

- I don't wanna sweep in my bed awone

- You want to come sleep in mommy and daddy's bed?

- Yes

- Here we go then

And so, he carried her to their room, when they arrived, Kairi and Yuki were already asleep. He gently laid her on the bed, before joining her and pulling the covers over the four of them.

- Sweet dreams sweetheart

She mumbled something incoherent while snuggling closer to her dad and quickly drifted to sleep. Soon joined by Sora.

It was good to be home. Good to only have to deal with normal problems, not saving the world or fighting, or being close to dath, just comforting his daughter after a nightmare or such normal things. It was good to be home.
