Steve couldn't help but feel slightly out of place when he stepped onto the SHEILD Helicarrier. Being introduced to Natasha Romanoff made him feel uncomfortable, considering her cold exterior. Meeting Bruce Banner put him a little at ease because Bruce was just as uncomfortable as Steve was. But Steve never guessed how his life would be turned upside down when he was introduced to Juliet Carter.
The three of them were just standing around on the Helicarrier deck when Natasha pointed out a young agent walking towards them.
"You see that woman over there? She's one of the best assassins SHEILD has today," she said. Steve crossed his arms and Natasha could sense his discomfort.
"Don't be so worried. Juliet is different from the rest of us. She was a soldier just like you. I think you'll like her," she said. As Juliet Carter approached them, she flashed a smile.
"Romanoff! It's good to see a familiar face," she said. Natasha gave her a slight smirk.
"Carter, this is Captain Rogers and Dr. Banner." Juliet extended a hand towards Steve, which he took. The first thing anyone would recognize about Juliet was that she had bright red hair, the brightest red hair that Steve had ever seen.
"It's good to finally meet you in person Captain," Juliet said warmly. She gave him and bright smile. Steve's curiosity about this redhead was just too much.
"You too. I hear you're a soldier?" Juliet put her hands in her pockets.
"You heard right." Steve nodded once. Juliet turned to Bruce and exchanged a handshake.
"Doctor Banner, it's good to meet you as well. I look forward to working with the both of you." Bruce didn't reply. He just shook her hand and nodded.
"Where'd you come back from?" Natasha asked.
"The Amazon. Which reminds me, I have to go check into the infirmary to get some shots. I don't know what it was but something definitely bit me. I'll see you later." Steve watched as she turned on her heels and walked away. Natasha gave him a slight nudge.
"Told you that you would like her."
