Waking up in the Room of Requirement, I tried to stretch, but something was holding down my arms. I looked down to see Harry cuddling into me, and it was the happiest sight ever.

His face was peaceful with sleep, and seemed smaller without his glasses. He was curled up next to me and our legs were entangled. I could tell that he thought of me as the center of his world, as his protector.

I gazed at his face, and for a moment I felt afraid. Afraid for him.

My father had sent me an owl the other day, informing me of my initiation ceremony date. To the Deatheaters.

Since I was seventeen now, I was of age to become one of the Dark Lord's loyal followers. That meant that I would have to do everything in my power to bring Harry to him, and in my position that would be so easy.

Before I saw Harry on the Astronomy Tower, I would have jumped at the chance to serve Voldemort. But now...

Harry was so fragile in this state. All of the death and tragedy of war had gotten to him a long time ago, and I was the only one who could get him back on his feet.

The ceremony was going to be held a week from now. Lucius would surely disown me if I did not come. Was I ready for that?

I looked at Harry sleeping next to me, so delicate, and I knew I was.

Leaning down to kiss Harry on the forehead, I smiled at him as he blinked his eyes open.

"Love, it's time to get up." I told him.

He smiled at me and nodded. Sitting up and stretching, he reached for his glasses.

"Harry." I called.

"Yeah?" He put on his glasses.

I took a deep breath. "I have to tell you something."

He frowned at the look on my face. "What?"

"I have a lot to say, so please listen to me and don't cut in, until the end. Okay?"

He nodded, confused.

"My father wants me to become a Deatheater. The initiation ceremony is in a week." I informed him. His eyes widened, and he backed up.

"But I'm not going to join them." I rushed to say. "I can't. I want to stay near you, I want to protect you. Harry, I could never do anything to hurt you. I... I love you."

Harry was still taking in what I had said, but when I confessed he gasped. Then he smiled and hugged me. "I love you, too, Draco. I'm so glad."

I embraced him and chuckled to myself.

"We should get to breakfast now." I suggested.

He nodded and untangled himself from me.

We got out of bed and found our shoes. We had slept in our clothes, so we unwrinkled them with a charm and left the Room.

Our hands were clasped, and luckily nobody was around.

"Draco, do we want people to... know? About us?" Harry asked.

I paused. I hadn't thought about that. If students found out, it would be in the Prophet before I knew it. Then my father would find out.

I let go of Harry's hand. "Not yet. We have to act like we normally do. But you know I love you, right?"

Harry nodded. "I know. I love you, too."

I kissed him, then went to the Slytherin Common Room.

Before I turned the corner, I looked back and saw Harry grinning wide.
