Me: New story (finally). I've had this idea for a while now and only recently started to put pen to paper. The characters are loosely (?) based on actual players. All names have been modified for privacy. I wouldn't want a couple dozen threats, would I? Anyway, I apologize for the really short prologue. I'll put up the first chapter once I finish it...

Rymus: Aw, it's okay! You do things whenever you feel like them, aite?

Cal: Yeah, we got Xbox Live. We'll be fine.

Rymus: WOO!

Jace: Goddamn you guys talk a lot. Let's just get this thing started so I can go shoot people.

- Prologue : First To Start -

Rushing through the labyrinthine forest, I only the sound of the whistling wind. Right now, only two thoughts are in my mind: our victims and my plan. I know that I can carry out my part, and I take pride and comfort in knowing that my party--no, my friends--are just as capable.

It's funny to think about now, but in a time not so long ago, I was in a world in which I did not believe anyone worth a single breath or passing glance. Even if that life was safer than the one I hold now, I still keep my decision. To me, living a lonely life in sanctuary is a life not worth living. I would much rather come home wounded than safe if it allowed me the opportunity to be with those who liked me for who I actually am. I hated being treated with artifical affections. Those bastards who only approached me for money and title.

Up ahead is the bog. Plan's good so far. I start to lure out the enemy numbers. I admit, this group is slightly smarter than some of the other vagabonds I've encountered. But not smart enough.

Now I'm surrounded on all sides. The last of their number is moving onto the swampy terrain; just where I want 'em. I tighten the claw on my right hand. They think they've got me cornered. Obviously, they've never heard of me.

It's showdown time.

Me: Okay, I hope I can finish the first chapter by...the middle of next week? Whenever I have enough privacy to type or write.

Jace: No kidding, your brother's a bitch.

Me: I wouldn't say it like that, but yeah, he is.

Jace: Well, you take forever to do anything, so I'll enjoy playing video games with Rym and Cal here. (turns back towards TV)

Cal: HEADSHOT!
