What Reincarnation Means

By: LaFemme

A/N: Just a drabble on Murata, because the concept just wouldn't leave my mind. A few warnings though: I'm not much of a writer so be prepared for crappiness. Also, not much of an ending but I kinda lost my groove halfway through … --;

Disclaimer: Murata Ken does not belong to me, no matter how much I wish I owned him.

Murata Ken is a reincarnation.

He is cursed to be forever reborn, and each rebirth teaches him something new and maybe old but he isn't sure anymore because he's lived so many lives.

It all comes back to him eventually.

Sometimes when the school bell rings, he'll hear the echo of two clashing swords whose masters fell centuries earlier fighting for empires already collapsed and forgotten.

He would watch a movie about a wizard and his fingers would itch and burn with magic he doesn't have and on his mind would be an ancient language he's never heard of but knows all about.

He'd hold a needle for the first time in Home Ec. Class and then he'd be able to embroider with the best. The faint memories of being called Lady Catherine and surrounded by giggling ladies maids would be on his mind.

Memories of past lives would blur together with the present and then he'd call a childhood friend Suzanne when knowing her name was Brooke…or Susan.

When Christmas rolled around, he'd be surrounded by aunts who tugged at his cheeks and uncles with obvious toupees, and an assortment of other cousins he never really knew. He'd get presents he asked for but never really wanted. He'd then remember waking up to the smell of cinnamon Christmas morning and kneeling with the parents and sister he never really had in an event he never experienced.

When he was three, he was already wise beyond his years but then again, he's been three many times before and each time, he knows more.

With his knowledge he guides heroes of the next generation and the generations after that, doomed to forever be in the shadows, always in the story but never the hero. Never to have the happy ending.

Because, he never ends, he just keeps living.
