AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a quick Hanna/Emily drabble. Spoilers for 1x14 Careful What U Wish 4. I love the Hanna/Emily friendship and sometimes I wish it turned into more, especially with scenes like what we saw in episode 1x14. Hanna doesn't want to be anything like Alison. one-shot. unless people want me to continue? Reviews would be nice. :)
Emily: Why are you dancing with Lucas?
Hanna: What do you mean?
Emily: You're torturing him. You know he worships you and you're never gonna look at him that way.
Hanna: I already feel like crap, okay? So if you're gonna pile it on, you could've at least saved me a sip.
Emily: Alison did the same thing to me. Makes you feel powerful, huh?
Hanna: No….just the opposite.
Emily: It's too bad she's not here tonight. Alison would've been really proud of you.
Hanna couldn't help but feel guilty. Emily was right. She was leading Lucas on like he actually had a chance at her heart. Hell, she was leading Sean on too because if Hanna were to be honest with herself she'd accept the fact that another person had it; the same exact person who had just walked away from her.
"But Em, I would never do that to you…" Hanna whispered to herself as Emily was no longer in her sight.
Hanna had always wanted to be just like Alison; the gorgeous blonde who everyone knew and feared. Well, she wanted to be popular and loved, but not feared. She wanted to possess that confidence that Alison had; the fearlessness. And most of all, she wanted to know how it felt to be wanted. She was also now starting to realize that she wanted the same attention Emily gave Alison, the admiration, not just to feel wanted, but to feel wanted by someone that she wanted to reciprocate her feelings to.
But at that moment, after Emily walked away disappointed in her actions, Hanna realized that being like Alison wouldn't be worth it. She was determined to show Emily that she was nothing like Alison.
