The lion king:
Timone and pumbas attempt at parenthood.
2 years after Timone and Pumba found Simba by the water whole.
It was a mild night and no stars were about. Timone was thinking to himself ' I wonder what stars really are'. Simba on the other hand was thinking about the night he nearly killed Nala and him. But his dad stepped into save them, and then he stopped. Thinking about his dad at all was too painful. It always led his mind to the night of the 'accident'. And he would shudder in guilt. While Pumba was trying to work up the strength to go and chase a green and yellow bug that he had been watching beady-eyed for the last 10 minutes.
Eventually, one after the other, they all dozed off. Until Simba was woken with an all-mighty lion roar. He jumped up with a start and looked around. But there was nothing to see. The wind was blowing gently, and Timone and Pumba were sleeping gracefully, well maybe not gracefully but heavy. Simba sat up right and thought of his uncle. Scar. At this time, was only beginning to grow a mane and did not look at all terrifying or anything of the sort. He could not protect Timone and Pumba.
He couldn't go back to sleep in fear of a nightmare. So he decided to go on a walk. He stopped at the first sign of trouble, and was terrified when he heard a crunch as he stepped on something. He lifted up his paw and saw a mixture of green and yellow. 'Must have been a bug' he heard a voice whisper. He looked up with a fright and saw a very odd monkey swinging off into the distance with a stick and he seemed to be singing about a squashed banana, for some apparent reason. Simba was a bit freaked out by this, but carried on moving in the direction the monkey. He didn't really know where he going but it felt right.
He walked for what seemed hours, he would have ran but he didn't feel a rush to be anywhere. When finally he stopped and drank out of a small lake. He then looked into the water and saw his reflection staring back. He was disappointed and angry, though he didn't know why. He lay on his back and gazed at the star-filled sky. This confused him, as it was a star-free sky a few hours ago. He saw what seemed a shadow in the sky. But thought nothing of it. After a rest he was planning on walking back to Timone & Pumba, but before he knew it he was already fast asleep. He dreamt a dream of him and his father, Mufassa. Well, the voices of him and Mufassa anyway. He could not see anything but darkness. His father had told him to remember, but when he woke up, he had already forgotten.
