Warning: Kagura-centric. Spoilers if you haven't read up to the part where Kagura confesses to Kyo.

My love for him was a love born out of selfishness.
This simple truth wouldn't be acknowledged in my heart until much later, when he was already falling in love himself and I wouldn't even have the slightest chance of winning him over, totally outmatched by the existence of Tohru Honda, the girl with a kindness that could fill the world and a love unparallel to anyone. Against such an opponent, how could I even think of standing a chance?
Thinking back, it seemed so obvious that such a result would happen. A selfish love would never go anywhere, for the guilt would seep in and the truth would reveal itself, sooner or later. And, the dirty feelings would never be washed clean.
This is my punishment, retribution to my selfish self. Because no matter how much I tried to justify my actions, the plain and simple truth to the reason why I wished to befriend Kyo was because he was the only living being I knew that was actually more pitiful than I.
Pulling off his beads were the seal to my self-justifying 'love'.
It didn't matter if this once faked love transformed into truth, because I would still be unworthy to love him. The past could never be erased, and to drag it on would only end up in hurting him… And myself. And I'm tired of being hurt.
So I'll let this love go, watch at the sidelines as he and Tohru play out their drama. Because I want to move on as well, and learn to truly love someone. A pure love, born from sincerity and kindness…
"Kagura-chan, would you… would you please go out with me?"
"…Yes."
