Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who but I do own the first season on DVD thanks to my husband.

A/N - This is my second Doctor Who fic. My first one didn't get any reviews so I'm not sure if that means it is horrible, or if it's just not original, which it's not. This one is a little different.

Seasons on the Tardis

The second time she went to Women Wept she knew what winter truly was. Winter wasn't just the cold and ice. Winter was the feeling of being alone. The second time she went to Woman Wept she wasn't really alone, the Doctor was with her. But it wasn't her Doctor, at least not yet. He must have known she wanted to be alone, for he let her leave the Tardis as soon as they landed. As she walked among the instantly frozen waves she remembered the first time she was there and how it felt so much warmer then. She knew logically that the temperature was the same as always, but the lack of the Doctor by her side made it feel much cooler. She never realized how much heat was transferred from hand to hand. She needed to invest in some new gloves next market trip.

On New Earth she remembered what spring was like. With the smell of apple grass in her hair and a new-new Doctor by her side, she was ready to face any adventure. The snow was gone and the grief was fading. The fear she initially had about traveling with her new Doctor was gone and hope was beginning to bloom. It's easy to believe the impossible when birds chip and flowers bloom. His cheeky smile brightened her day, and inside the Tardis it was almost too much light. He seemed to glow with life and matched the spring Rose felt in her heart. Spring brought new life, and as long as that life was with him, Rose was content.

Summer was carefree, sleepy days with lots to eat and little to do. Admittedly there were not many summer type days on the Tardis. But there were plenty of days when the heat seemed to be turned up. Days he held her hand a little longer than necessary, days his gaze lingered on her until her blood began to boil. On those days the slightest touch would bring a blush across her body and her breathing would catch. Supernovas could not compare to the heat between them on these summer days.

The feel of autumn was in the air as they left the Olympic Games. Not just the occasional coolness in the breeze, but the smell of something in the air. Fallen leaves littered the ground and crunched beneath their feet as they walked back to the Tardis. Rose cuddled against him for warmth and comfort as they made their way through the twilight. His ominous words earlier wouldn't have scared her so much in the spring, she would have laughed outright in the summer, but something about the autumn air made her pause. She could feel it too, a change was coming; a change she didn't want. A change that would bring about another winter, one she wasn't prepared for.
