"Percy?" Annabeth asked as she poked her head through the corner of the room. Percy had gone home days before as the school year began.

"Yeah?" Percy replied just turning over to turn off his alarm clock, which had been going off for the past 10 minutes.

"you're gonna be late." Annabeth said as she removed his Orange and gray Tee from his corner chair to sit down. When she sat down she realized that the seat had been scratched multiple times. "How did this happen?' She questioned as she moved her fingers along the scratches.

"I don't Know" Percy shrugged as he rubbed his eyes awake. He noticed that Annabeth walking out of the room slowly by the time his eyes focused themselves.

' Those scratches look strange.' Annabeth thought to herself as she waited in the living room for Percy to get dressed. She noticed a slim black cat circling the tall lamp by the window.

"PERCY?" she hollered hoping he'd here from the other end of the door.

"YEAH?" he screamed back not knowing what she was complaining about now.

"DID YOU GET A CAT?" Annabeth screeched as she got closer to the cat. When she did she saw the cat had a strange birthmark nicely planted on his neck.

"NO, WHY?" Percy answered quickly.

"UH, NOTHING."

"OK?''

When Annabeth got closer she couldn't take her eyes off of the mark on the cat in front of her. She gently picked up the cat to see its dark beady red eyes. A sign that Hades was out for Percy again.

The cat slipped through her fingers like a fat man stuck in a door with a stick of butter. All she could see after that was how the cat jumped out the window, and flew away.

Should I continue and make more short chapters or should I give up on the whole idea?
