Bella and Jacob were sitting in the woods. Jacob was in wolf form and Bella was leaning against his furry back. Scratching behind his left ear, the way she knew he liked. He was growling softly, if Bella hadn't of known better she would have called it purring, but if Jacob heard her say that she knew a clawed paw would be batted in her direction. She smiled to herself as Jacob continued to purr.
She stopped scratching and he stood up, on all fours, shook his shaggy head and jogged into the distance. He came back, as the tall, muscled, topless, human Jacob, Bella knew and loved.
They started walking back to the little cottage her and Edward shared.
But she stopped abruptly.
"What?" Jacob asked.
"Let me try something," She said, curious. She put her hand behind Jacob's left ear, under his hair and scratched. He closed his eyes, smiled and a quiet purr erupted from his throat.
Bella laughed.
"Jacob's purring." She giggled, running back to the cottage, Jacob shifted into a wolf and ran after Bella at full speed, before she could tell Alice.
