He smiles his knowing smile and I feel my heart melt. The simplest things can have my heart beating tens times it's normal speed.
I wonder if this time he might stay, if this time he just might love me enough to stay around.
If maybe this time, he will not back out like all those other times.
Maybe this time when he says he loves me he'll mean it.
Maybe this time their will be some truth behind his words.
He looks at me with those strikingly sliver eyes and my breath catches in my throat.
He might not stay, but he is here now.
He might not be tomorrow.
Deep down in my heart I know that one day he will leave again, that one day I'll wake up and go to his house to find it empty.
One day he will leave, and he might not come back.
He might be gone tomorrow, but he is here today.
And that's all I can hope for.
