She flung open the door and let out a loud screech. Fiyero followed her in quietly and closed the door, locking it promptly. Elphaba flung her arms up in the air in a rage and put her hands on her hips. Fiyero had placed himself at the end of her bed, just watching her vent, waiting for her to finish. He'd followed her all the way from the courtyard after he'd seen her run off with an odd look in her eyes. Luckily the dorm room was empty as at that point in time Galinda was out having lunch with Shenshen.

'Ok, just calm down, what's wrong?'

Fiyero attempted to pacify Elphaba, who was currently pacing her dorm room, her hair falling out of its neat bun, hanging around her shoulders.

'Whats wrong? Didn't you hear them? Sniggering behind my back. AGAIN. I'm just so fed up of it Fiyero, yes, I'm different! You'd think I'd only just realised! I just wish people would stop labelling me and see me for...well me!'

She reached her hand up to her hair line in stress, before looking at the colour of her hand and grimacing. Seeing this Fiyero got off the bed and stood in front of her, grabbing both her forearms to keep her still.

'Elphaba, stop it! You know it only fuels them when they see it bothers you! Just calm down, ok? Not everyone is as judgemental as them!'

'Yes they are!'

She screamed, trying to break his hold on her.

'You all are! You and Glinda were before you felt sorry for me!'

By this time she'd worked herself into such a fit of rage she considered biting Fiyero on the arm just so he would let go.

'Let me go! I swear Fiyero if you don't let me go I'll bite you!'

He only tightened his grip.

'Look! I may have judged you at first, and for that I'm sorry! Sure you're different, but it the world would be a boring place if we were all the same! But I think your green defines you! You're just too afraid to admit the fact that you're hiding behind the colour of your skin!'

At this Elphaba stopped struggling. A tear stung her cheek as it made its way down to the corner of her mouth. The pair of them stood there for a minute, breathing deeply in the heat of the argument. Then, without warning, Fiyero pulled her towards him and pressed his lips against hers. He could taste the salt from her tears. He loosened his grip on her arms, and was shocked when Elphaba lifted her hand up to the back of his hair. He was preparing to deepen the kiss when a knock at the door made them jump apart, as it struck by electricity.

'Elphie? Are you in there? Have you seen Fiyero, he seems to have run off!'

Galindas high pitched voice could be heard through the wooden panels.

Elphaba sniffed and wiped her nose with the back of her hand.

'He's in here with me Galinda, just giving my some advice about something!'

'Elphie? We're not allowed boys in the dorms, you know that, now open up!'

Fiyero continued to stare at Elphaba as he got his breathing under control. When she didn't break eye contact, Fiyero strode towards the door. He unlocked it and walked out, without saying a single word.

Galinda looked past him then back at Elphaba.

'Well, he seems cheerful today, honestly, I don't know what goes through that mans mind sometimes!'

She looked a little bemused before walking into the girls dorm and closing the door behind her.

As Fiyero walked back towards the courtyard, he thought that he probably should have said something after kissing Elphaba. And probably should have been a bit more polite to his girlfriend. He found a quiet bench to sit on and ran his hands through his hair. He'd wanted to kiss her since that day in the poppy fields. He felt a knot form in his stomach when we realised that Elphaba would be leaving tomorrow.
