A/N: I'm on a Secret Garden kick, what can I say? So, here is yet another songfic from me, Sung to HOLD ON, from THE SECRET GARDEN. Lyrics are double starred, as I still can't figure out how to use my italic's thing and keep it in the 'text only format." If anyone could tell me how it would be greatly appreciated. All flames will be sent back to their sendee's in the form of a fiery howler.
Disclaimer: I really hate these, therefore, you all are going to feel really stupid right now reading this because ffn is a disclaimer in itself, so I'm not going to say anything. Seriously. If you read this last sentence it won't tell you anything.
**What you've got to do is finish what you have begun, I don't know just how, but it's not over 'til you've won, **
"Some say 'e died, codswallop in my opinion. I dunno if there was enough human left in him to die."
**When you feel the storm a comin', see the lighting part the skies, **
And there, in the sky like some gruesome green constellation, was a huge, glittering, skull.
**there's no where to run, there's terror in your eyes, **
"Not Harry! Please not Harry! I'll do anything! Take me, kill me instead! Not Harry!"
**What you do then is remember this old thing yeh heard me say, it's the storm not you, that's bound to go away. **
And then it hit him-he understood. He hadn't seen his father, he had seen himself. Harry flung himself out from behind the bush and pulled out his wand. "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" He yelled.
**Hold on, hold on to someone standing by, **
His only chance was to keep hold of Quirrell, keep him in enough pain to stop him from doing a curse. Harry jumped to his feet, caught Quirrell by the arm, and hung on as tight as he could.
**Hold on, don't even ask how long or why, child, hold on to what you know is true,**
"Don't be a fool," snarled the face, "Better to save your own life and join me...or you'll meet the same end as your parents...they died begging me for mercy..."
"LIAR!" Harry shouted suddenly.
**Hold on, 'til you get through, child oh child, hold on."
Harry felt, afterward, that he should have known it was all to good to last.
**When you feel your heart 'a poundin' fear a devil's at your door,**
"Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off-"
**There's no where to hide, your frozen to the floor,**
Harry felt as though devils snare was rooting him to the spot. He couldn't move a muscle. Petrified, he watched as Qurriell reached up and began to unwrap his turban.
**What you do then is you force yourself to wake up, and you say, it's this dream not me, that's bound to go away.**
And over a thousand miles away, a boy named Harry Potter woke up.
**Hold on, hold on the night will soon be by, hold on, and think of something else to try, child hold on, there's angels on their way, hold on and hear them say, child oh child, **
And then another person came out of Voldemort's wand, a person whom Harry had expected, his father. "Your mother's coming soon," he said, "Hold on, Harry."
**And it doesn't even matter, if the danger and the doom, comes from up above, or down below, or just comes flying at you from across the room**
Harry took a deep breath, covered his face with his arms, and ran. He expected to feel sharp beaks and claws tearing at him, but nothing happened.
**When you see a man whose raging, cause he's jealous and he fears, that you've walked through walls, he's hid behind for years, what you do then is you tell yourself to wait it out, you say, it's this day not me, that's bound to go away**
"THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH POTTER!"
**Child hold on, it's this day, not you, that's bound to go away!**
A/N: I'm sorry if a lot of this stuff isn't exactly like the book, I only have the first book with me right now. Thanks a lot! Tootles!
