Octavius sighed as he spotted Teddy and Sacagawea kissing, averted his eyes, and walked back to the party that was being thrown for valentine's day.
Red paper hearts littered the floor, romantic songs blared through the speakers, and many people were paired up around the room, dancing and swaying together.
Jedediah was stood with a few of his men, slightly away from the Roman, talking and laughing.
When the blond spotted his friend, he smiled, waved, said something to his fellow westerners, and then made his way over to the dark-haired man.
"Howdy, partner." Jed chirped, a massive grin on his face.
"Hello Jedediah." Octavius' voice betrayed his emotions, his almost discomfort audible in the tone.
"What's wrong, Oct?" he put his hand on his friend's shoulder, and tilted his head.
"Nothing Jed, I'm perfectly fine."
"And I'm the King of Egypt." the blond said sarcastically. "Now, you gonna tell me what's the matter?"
"If you must know, I'm slightly jealous of some of the people in the room."
"Why?"
"Because I want what they have?" Octavius looked down at his feet. "All the, uh, love between everyone is making me long for it as well. I'm jealous."
"Well I guess this would be a good time to tell you that I love you, then."
Octavius looked up and his eyes were wide open.
"Huh?" he was rendered speechless.
"Uhh, I love you… and I kinda wrote you a poem…" Jedediah cleared his throat - while Octavius finally came out of his shock.
"Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
You're my best friend,
And I love you.
We used to be enemies,
And then we were friends,
Now I hope we can be lovers,
Until the very end."
"Oh my, Jedediah, that was so sweet."
"Yeah, well, you bring it out of me." the westerner blushed brightly.
"I love you too, by the way."
Jedediah smiled, and took the elder man's hand. "Would you like to dance?"
He didn't wait for an answer - though it would be a yes - and dragged the Roman closer to the dance space.
He placed his hands on the dark haired man's hip, so Octavius wrapped his arms around the blond's neck. They swayed to the gentle beat, the elder man resting his head on the cowboy's shoulder.
"This is nice." Octavius whispered, as the song changed to a slightly more upbeat one.
"It sure is."
The Roman brought his head up, and looked straight into the blond's eyes.
"I love you."
The westerner's eyes crinkled slightly with a smile.
"I love you too."
"I want to kiss you right now."
"Then why aren't you?"
"Because I like looking at your eyes."
Jedediah burst out with laughter.
"You're adorable." the cowman told the man in his arms.
"So are you." was the reply.
"I ain't adorable." Jedediah muttered.
"Oh shush, you."
And he was silenced with a passionate kiss. The arms around his neck tightened, and his hands on the elder man's waist squeezed tightly, pulling the hips towards him own. Much of their bodies were touching, and the cowboy started to get rather hot.
"Do you want to take this somewhere? Maybe your room?" he panted as they pulled away from each other.
"I thought you'd never ask!" and they ran all the way there.
