Meanwhile in Edolas…
Sting and Rogue were in their house, reading newspapers about the sudden lack of energy in Edolas, something about a certain "Demon Lord Dragneel" stealing all the magic for himself. Well, only Sting was reading. Rogue's newspaper was in a crumpled state and tossed into a pile of similarly treated papers.
"I WILL become a better reporter than Gajeel someday!" declared Rogue, standing on top of the pile of newspapers.
Rogue was a reporter who used to take writing class under Gajeel. However, ever since Gajeel started writing for a different newspaper, Rogue stopped admiring him and began striving to surpass him.
"Shut up, Rogue, do you always have to be so loud?" grumbled Sting.
Sting was very sensitive to bright light and loud noises. He hated listening to people blabber about random things. He had a small crush on the girl who lived with them, Minerva, but conversation between the two was always short and awkward because Sting never talked much (except to complain about Rogue).
The two were interrupted by a loud clanging sound in the kitchen, accompanied by a shriek. Sting and Rogue went to the kitchen only to find the stove on fire. A dark haired girl was trying desperately put it out.
"I got it," cried Rogue, dropping a pitcher of water over the blazing fire.
"Are you ok, Minerva?" muttered Sting.
"I'm alright. Sorry for setting the stove on fire! I didn't mean to, I just wanted to make some soup!" wailed Minerva.
"How did you get the stove on fire?" asked Rogue curiously.
"W-well, you see, I was putting tomatoes in the soup, but then I dropped them all over the stove! A-and I wasn't thinking and tried to pick them up, but then my spoon dropped into the fire and it just set on fire!"
"Calm down." mumbled Sting.
"I think someone else should be the one to do the cooking around here." declared Rogue, staring at the mess of a stove that was left.
"I agree," said a sharp voice. "It should be me."
The voice belonged to Yukino, the leader of their little group. She was always scolding, snapping, or beating people up. The only one safe from being yelled at was Minerva, and that was only because the two were best friends. However, Sting and Rogue were constantly being thrown around and screamed at…
"You two!" yelled Yukino. "Clean up that pile of newspaper! You and your stupid antics have woken me from my precious beauty sleep!"
"We're sorry!" Sting and Rogue cried, scrambling to obey Yukino's orders.
It was just a normal day in the Sabertooth apartment.
