A/N:

I honestly don't know what this is, I just had a random angsty thought that led to this. I just had to let it out, so enjoy the short drabble.

Disclaimer: I do not own Once Upon a Time or any of the characters in it.

Ashes

It was hard to breathe in the dark room. There was no space, she couldn't move. She didn't know what was happening, and she looked around frantically for help. Then she heard an ear-piercing scream.

Mary Margaret bolted upright from her bed in her loft. She was breathing rapidly and was sweating from her horrid nightmare. Taking a few deep breaths, she finally calmed down.

She furrowed her eyebrows and looked around for it was awfully quiet in here. David wasn't beside her which was odd— he didn't usually wake up so early. Mary Margaret took a self-note to check up on him later.

She walked towards the crib to check up on Neal but he was not there. She started panicking and was very worried. Maybe David had gone on an early stroll with the baby?

Getting her phone, she quickly dialed David. But after a couple rings, he still did not answer. With no response from her husband, she decided to call her daughter but was met with the no response.

Mary Margaret was now panicking on full mode now and ran out of the door, not bothering to change. She ran out on the street and called out, "David! Emma! Neal!" The town was dead silent.

She ran on every street, calling out their names but ended up with nothing. No reply, no help, nothing.

Not wanting to give up, she continued. It was until Regina approached her and said, "Snow? What are you doing?"

She opened her mouth to reply but closed it as she focused more on Regina. Regina had looked like she was recently crying for her eyes were bloodshot red and tired. She looked miserable.

"I'm looking my family—David, Neal, and Emma," Mary Margaret said looking very worried because of her family's sudden disappearance and for Regina, "They were just… gone. Do you know where they are?"

And before Mary Margaret was about to ask Regina if she was okay, Regina spoke first.

"Don't you remember? They were in a war as they attempted to save Neal and Henry. You and I were the only ones who survived."

She moved away from Mary Margaret's view for her to see four tombstones that had the names of her family.

She gasped.

They're dead.

Like I said, this was just a random little drabble that I couldn't keep in any longer, so I decided to make it into a story.
