Billions of years ago the universe was created by the Bad Wolf. She loved her creation and spent hundreds of years travelling through the universe with her protector. But her creation was flawed. It was full of pain and destruction. And even though her and her protector did everything they could to help, she decided that is wasn't enough and that she needed another to help fight the darkness.
Then one day she met the captain. And although her protector didn't like him, she could see his heart and his true potential. And so when he died protecting her universe she brought him back and made it so he could live forever as her champion.
But he couldn't cope. He didn't understand his destiny or why he was the way he was. Then came the teaboy. He wasn't anything special. He wasn't the smartest or the bravest, but he was caring and loyal, and he was there when things turned sour and eventually the captain came to depend on him. And that in itself terrified the captain because no matter how much he tried to deny it he knew he was going to outlive the teaboy and didn't know if he could handle being alone again.
So he ignored it and tried to make the most of the here and now. But they worked for Torchwood. And all too soon that frightful day came. And all it took was a deep weevil scratch to the neck and the teaboy was dead before they reached the hub.
Her captain broke.
She could feel his heart break a million miles away and couldn't bare to see her captain in so much pain. So she decided to she decided to give her captain one last gift and brought back the teaboy and made him like her captain so they could protect the universe together. And it wasn't easy. And sometimes it hurt more than they could bare. But they had each other. And in the end that's all that they really needed.
My first fanfic so I would appreciate any reviews good or bad. Because personally I think it reads more like a bedtime story than a fanfic.
