It is summer break, and I am very much looking forward to the fun and games that lay ahead. But there is only one problem.

A squeal of laughter broke outside, while I was filing the last of my papers at my desk, in the dorm room. Curiously I looked out the window to see what all the commotion was about. The warm sun painted the streets with gold, while the towering buildings casted dark blue shadows on the land, sharply contrasting with the sun setting across the horizon. I was shocked by the bright intensity of the light, coming through the window, casting my hand over my eyes. My eyes eventually adjusted, seeing my twin brother Rin, who I greatly admired for his inhuman strength, and a beautiful flower that dancing around with him, Shiemi. Envy struck me with a piercing blow seeping into my chest. I prowled close to the window, nose pressed against it, like an animal helplessly watching its prey.

Their shadows danced in the light, as they tarred across the roof playing tag like little children. The awkward girl of short blond hair and great big blue eyes struggled to keep up with him. Rin obviously was enjoying this, by the huge grin on his face, running without effort to get away. Shiemi eventually stopped putting her hand to her chest, breathing hard, with to her rib cage moving rapidly up and down. A few moments later Rin, who was few yards away, turned his head around seeing Shiemi hunched over, resting her hands on her knees, trying to regain her strength. He froze and came to a complete stop, pausing for a moment. Time seemed to stop, seeing his poster of slumped shoulders and his finger casually on his upper lip. This made me anxious seeing he was obviously pondering an idea in his head. Watching him, he strolled over to her, as she looked up with a beaming smiled on her face; gesturing with her hand she was ok. He placed a hand on her shoulder and used his other hand lifted her hunched self-up by her elbow. The two were very close, as they gazed into each other eyes.

I eventually had enough, closing the blinds and shutting everything out. The room went dark finding out the hard way that I need to turn on a light. Fumbling in the dark I reached out for the deck lamp feeling around on the head, to find the inconvenient fingertip sized handle on the side of it. Twisting the tiny silver handle, a small beam of light illuminated the room, giving a clear definition to only a small part of the desk. Pulling up a wheelie chair I sat down and placed my feet on top of the deck, reflecting and wondering how I should have done things differently when I was with Shiemi.

So what do you think...
