Nate was the last one to arrive at Debbie's Diner, the team's designated meet up location in the podunk town they were working out of for the time being. The mark had made Parker and Eliot and the two had managed to get away from the trap that was set through some dumb luck and quick thinking.

They were posing as a newlywed couple looking to buy their first house in order to get the trick the realtor selling not up to code homes into cashing out his entire business to get back their client's money.

Walking up to the table to hear the argument that was taking place clued Nate into what was probably the first mistake, trying to get Parker and Eliot to get along without fighting or making snide comments to one another.

Eliot was clearly agitated with the situation and defending himself by bringing up what happened to the rest of the team as if they weren't listening over the comms the whole time. "C'mon Hardison you heard what she said to the guy, I mean who responds to a question about vaulted ceilings like that."

"In her defense she spends her free time in bank vaults so the confusion could be understandable. That house would make a horrible vault."

"Thanks Hardison, take that," Parker supplied, "and you're one to talk Mr. let's-throw-the-furniture."

"Na-uh Parker, you brought your crazy into the job and that was why I had to take out the contractor and his security with those kitchen chairs. If Sophie had been there instead she could have found a way to lie and get us out."

"Don't bring me into this Eliot," Sophie said putting down her tea, "both of you messed up on this one. No one would buy that you two were just married."

Laughing slightly at what only Sophie would think of to say in a situation like this was amusing, but true. Most newlyweds were in a state of constant touching in one way or another, but putting together a girl that had issues in understanding most emotions with someone that was constantly on alert that she was going to do something crazy was not convincing.

Watching the hitter and the thief even now showed that anyone observing them long and close enough would become suspicious of what they were really up to. That didn't seem to matter now as he saw Parker get up out of her seat around to the other side of the booth and start kissing Eliot.

Despite all of the fighting earlier this is what it takes for someone to actually listen to what he had to say one the whole situation. Turning towards Sophie as she broke the silence that had fallen over their table, "Nate you know you could chime in anytime."

"What?" Nate said looking up to meet her eyes, "Oh yeah no he was supposed to find out. It's all part of the plan you guys just couldn't know so your surprise would be genuine."

A chorus of "What?" "You've got to be kidding me" and "Next time I'm Parker's husband" followed Nate as he got up.

Seeing all of their glaring faces he turned to the door only to turn his head back. "Are you all coming? We've got a job to finish."

Reviews? I'm thinking about possibly writing another part to this that would take place after they finish the job, but I'm not sure when.
