Hey! Thanks for deciding to read my story. It is just a short Zoey and Chase 0neshot. The song is ' Why don't you kiss her?' by Jesse McCartney. This is my first ever fanfic so please don't be too harsh. Enjoy!

Why don't you kiss her?

We're the best of friends
and we share our secrets
She knows everything that is on my mind
Ohhh...
Lately something's changed
as I lie awake, in my bed
A voice here inside my head
Softly says...Why don't you kiss her
Why don't you tell her
Why don't you let her see the feelings that you hide
She'll never know
If you never show
The way you feel inside

"Hey Chase, have you finished that history report due Monday?" Chase didn't answer, his eyes fixed on the ceiling.

"Chase?" This time when Chase didn't answer, Michael threw a pillow at his head.

"Aaghh! What was that for?!"

" You were thinking about Zoey again, weren't you", said Michael shaking his head.

"Um...no?" Chase offered weakly as a reply. He knew Michael would be able to tell if he was lying so he didn't bother trying to put up a fight.

"Dude, you've got it bad!"

"I know…I just can't stop thinking about her".

"Why don't you just tell her how you feel?"

"I can't!"

"Why not?!"

"I guess I'm just…afraid".

Oh, I'm so afraid
To make the first move
Just a touch and we could
cross the line
And every time she's near
I wanna never let her go
Confess to her what my heart
knows, hold her close...

"Afraid of what?"

"That she doesn't feel the same way. Zoey and I have been best friends for 3 years. What if she can't see past us being just friends? If I tell her it could ruin our friendship and I care about Zoey to much to let that happen".

"And what if she feels the same way? – Isn't it worth the risk?"

"Not if I risk losing Zoey forever", Chase replied sadly, his voice almost a whisper.


What would she say
I wonder would she just turn away
or would she promise me
that she's here to stay
It hurts me to wait
I keep asking myself

Michael sighed. "Dude you can't live like this forever. I think you should tell her how you feel. Even if she doesn't feel the same way, you and Zoey have been through so much together, I'm sure your friendship could survive it. And if she does feel the same way then you could have a real chance at happiness. Don't throw that away".

"Maybe you're right".

"Aren't I always?" Michael grinned.

"I'll go see her right now".



"So what did you wanna talk to me about?"asked Zoey, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Um…" maybe this wasn't such a good idea.. "I…um…nothing. It doesn't matter".

"No go on, tell me", Zoey smiled at him encouragingly.

" Zoey…I'm in love with you."

For a moment, a look of shock passed over Zoey's face. It quickly melted away, however, into a smile a mile wide.

"I love you too Chase". Then She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a deep kiss.
