Chapter 1.
"Joana Jones , hurry up before your late for school!" my mother screamed at me. Well my name is Joana Jones as you all now know.
I have long black hair and blue eyes, and an hour glass figure, I have a very unique personality as well. I tend to be bitch sometimes but only if you get me mad enough, I love to read, I spend most of my time with my friends and I only have one parent, my mom who is in the Navy, I never knew my dad.
"K mom lets go" I said to her. When we get in the car she doesnt say anything, and i'm not the type to start conversation so it became an awkward silence.
When we got to my school she broke the silence "Honey I have to tell you something," I nodded to show her i was listening.
"I'm being deployed in two days, i'll be in Afganistan for eight months, and you will be living with your cousin Sam in La Push."
I just sat there lost for words, I didn't want my mom to leave and I definitly did not want to move to the rainiest place in the U.S. "Your just telling me this now?" I asked furiously.
"Couldn't I have at least gotten a fair warning?" Mom just looked down and didn't say anything. "I'm sorry, I didn't know how to break this to you." She looked at the time on the dashboard.
"It's time for you to go to class, honey. We'll talk later, i'll be picking you up after school." "Ok, bye" I said opening the car door, "I love you" my mom quietly said as I slammed the door.
"Whats wrong JayJay?" my friend Courtney asked me. "I just found out my mom is getting deployed in two days and i'm moving to my cousin Sams... In La Push." I told her.
That was two days ago, now i'm standing outside of Sam's house. I felt something drop on my head, it's starting to rain. I walk up the steps and knock on the door.
