~*~* A/N: Okay, so after my M/P slash, I got a few requests for a Frodo/Sam.. so... alas, I did it. :-D By the way, this takes place right after Frodo and Sam cross the Great River, after leaving the group. By the way, this is my first non-NC-17 slash. And I know it's short. Thanks for reading, and please reveiw! *~*~

Frodo sighed, turning and glancing back across the River. The others had already departed, but he and Sam were to go in a different direction.

"Mr. Frodo?" came the voice of his companion, and Frodo turned, offering the hobbit a small, brave smile.

"Yes, Sam?"

"Ought we to leave the shore soon? Strider said orcs patrol." Frodo nodded, and Sam touched his friend's shoulder.

"Don't worry about the others, Mr. Frodo. Strider will look after them."

Frodo turned, watching his dearest friend.

"I know, Sam. We have to leave soon, but I wanted to say this before we departed."

"What is it, Mr. Frodo?" asked Sam, his hand still on the smaller hobbit's shoulder.

"I love you, Sam," spoke Frodo softly, looking down. Astonished by these words, the ones that he'd longed to hear for ages, Sam gasped softly, then moved his hand from Frodo's shoulder to underneath his chin. Gently, he lifted Frodo's head, his eyes soft and loving.

"Oh, Mr. Frodo," said Sam, as Frodo nuzzled against his hand. Sam slowly caressed Frodo's cheek, and his friend looked down.

"I'm so frightened, Sam," he whispered, and Sam nodded.

"I know, and I am too. But I'm here for you, Frodo. I won't let anything happen to you, not if I can help it."

Frodo smiled at this, warm and adoring. "Thank you, Sam." He slowly reached up, touching Sam's face with both his hands, cupping it and bringing it to his own. Their lips met, dancing, the kiss hot and soft. Sam nudged his tongue against Frodo's lips, licking them gently, and entering his love's mouth when he allowed it. They kissed for what seemed like days, though it could only have been a few moments. It broke gently, and they shared a long gaze.

"I'm glad you're with me, Sam," said Frodo softly, and then they left the shore.
