It had been an extremely bad day, and Morgan was in an equally bad mood. All he wanted to do was go home, have a beer and sit on the couch with Clooney, spacing out in front of whatever was on TV. And he was just about to put that plan into action when he phone rang. He groaned and considered just not answering it, but when he saw the caller id said Reid he was too surprised not to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Knock, knock."

"Reid? What-"

"Knock. Knock," Reid insisted, and he sounded serious, not like he was delivering a joke. Morgan sighed.

"Who's there?"

"Interrupting cow."

"Inter-"

"Moo!"

Reid was cackling when he hung up, and Morgan couldn't help but smiling.

The next time Reid called him after a case, he was already smiling when he answered.

"Hello?"

"Knock, knock," Came the expected voice.

"Who's there, Reid?"

"Old lady."

"Old lady who?"

"Why, Morgan. I didn't know you could yodel."

This time there both laughing when the disconnect.

The next time, Morgan answers his phone and, instead saying hello, decides to give a joke of his own.

"Knock, knock."

Reid is only caught of guard for a second, and Morgan can practically hear him smiling.

"Who's there, Morgan?"

"Doctor," He says, knowing Reid will get the joke before he can finish it and not caring.

"Doctor Who?" Reid gets out, trying not to laugh.

"Yes, that's right."

Morgan applauds himself on such a nerdy joke when he hears Reid laughing hard as they hang up.

The case they just finished was horrible. Nobody speaks as they get off the plane and head home, Hotch telling them to take a couple of days off. Morgan isn't in the mood for a joke, but he's still disappointed when his phone stays silent. He arrives home and goes through the motions of feeding Clooney and getting ready for bed, but he's distracted.

He's just about to drift off when his phone lights up.

"Reid, I don't-"

"Knock, knock," Reid is almost whispering, and he sounds exhausted. Morgan sighs.

"Who's there?"

"…Orange," Reid says, sounding as if he has to force he words out.

"Orange who?" Morgan asks, just as he hears the doorbell.

"Orange you gonna let me in?"

Morgan should be more surprised that Reid's standing at his door, but he isn't. And he should be even more surprised when Reid kisses him, but it doesn't phase him at all.

"Knock, knock."

"Who's there?"

"Olive ."

"Olive who?"

"Olive you."
