Morgan understands, he really does, why Emily had gone intohiding. He can even understand why Hotch and JJ had lied to them. That doesn'tmean he isn't angry, or that he isn't hurt. He understands, but it doesn't meanthat his feelings just go away.

And he knows it's not about him, damn it. He's spent thelast seven months trying to make it up to Emily. It's been about her, and tryingto make things right, and trying to make the team right again. Itsnever been about him. And he resents Hotch for saying that almost as much as heresents him for lying.

He's so tired of Hotch acting as if he can just turn off hisfeelings, like he can stop anything from getting to him. God knows the otherscan't, and even Hotch has trouble turning it off sometimes. And the more hethinks about it, the angrier he gets. Which is why instead of heading home atthe end of the day, or out with Garcia, or even to go knock some walls out ofone of his properties, he instead heads to Hotch's office after everyone hasleft. He knows the other man is still there, and he knows that they're the onlyteam members still here.

Hotch doesn't even seem that surprised to see him, and Morgan isn't sure whythat only pisses him off more.

"Hotch, what the hell is your problem?" Morgan asks.

"Morgan," Hotch starts, but he doesn't want to hear it.

"No, I'm serious. I didn't say a damn thing to you about Emily, you did that. Guilty conscience? What did you think I was going to do? Startyelling and throwing punches? What?"

"No, Morgan, I just-" Hotch sighs, running a hand across his face andstanding up. "Look, I know how hard this has been for you. I just wanted to makesure that you didn't let it get to you while we were still on a case."

"You know better than that Hotch," Morgan snaps, shaking his head, "You knowI would do anything to make suer that Doyle paid for what he did-"

"Yes, exactly, I couldn't let you let your emotions get in the way."

"Oh, Hotch," Morgan laughs, "You have no idea just how good I am at notletting my emotions get in the way, no idea."

"What are you talking about?"

"See? You don't even know." Morgan steps up to him, invading his personalspace and smiling coldly. "You think if I couldn't control my emotions, couldn'tlet things go, I could work with you every day? See you every day, and not beable to do what I want to do?"

"Morgan-"

But the rest is lost as Morgan grabs Hotch and kisses him hard. Hotch doesn'trespond, he doesn't move at all and Morgan imagines that he's in shock. He holdsthe kiss a moment longer and then pulls away, taking a step back. He almostlaughs at the bemused look on Hotch's face, but forces himself not to. He needsto get out of here before Hotch comes to his senses; before he throws a punch orires him.

"Don't tell me I don't know how to let things go, Hotch" Morgan warns, "Anddon't you dare say I think things like that are about me. Because you couldn'tbe more wrong."

Hotch still hasn't moved from the spot where Morgan let him go. And he stillhasn't when Morgan turns around and walks away
