The Knighting

Summary: A missing scene from one of those Clone Wars stories ( ? ).
Author's Notes: Actually, THIS is the first SW fic I have ever written ! And….to find some more information about the Jedi Knighting, I visited Wookieepedia and had to spend quite some time reading several articles on there. I got a lot of help from the site though ! : )
The ceremony of Knighthood was presided over by the Grand Master of the day, which, in the waning days of the Republic, was Yoda. Eleven other Jedi Masters stood with Yoda – usually, but not always, the remaining members of the Jedi Council.
It was a beautiful ceremony.
Usually a padawan's own master does not participate in the ceremony itself but Anakin's Master – Obi-Wan Kenobi attended. Anakin was thankful for Obi-Wan's being there with him. True . . . . it was always a great comfort to him to feel Obi-Wan's presence especially when he was in a nervous state.
Obi-Wan remained there standing still, watching Anakin affectionately.
The Master heading the knighting ceremony recited the following formula, beginning with a standard greeting :
" We are all Jedi. The Force speaks through us. Through our actions, the Force proclaims itself and what is real. Today we are here to acknowledge what the Force has proclaimed. "
The presiding Master then turned his focus towards the prospective Knight :
" Step forward, Anakin Skywalker. "
Anakin Skywalker was visibly nervous and as he took a step forwards, somehow he managed to steal a glance at his Master who was watching him with his usual greenish grey eyes so warm – almost fatherly.
Anakin and Obi-Wan looked at each other, eyes meeting for a brief second.
Obi-Wan nodded, smiling.
Anakin smiled back and nodded.
The presiding Master continued, looking straight at Anakin's clear blue eyes.
" By the right of the Council, by the will of the Force, I dub thee, Jedi Knight of the Republic. "
Afterwards, a Jedi Master – one of the Council members proclaimed the following :
" Take up your lightsabre, Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight. And may the Force be with you. "
