The Piano Duel

As the Weasley and Potter clans crowded into the Muggle restaurant, the seating hostess goggled at the sheer number of them. "Er-how many?" she asked, almost terrified to find out. "One, two three-OI! WILL YOU LOT STOP BLOODY MOVING SO I CAN COUNT HEADS?" Ron yelled. "Twelve," he told the woman. "Er-fine. Please follow me," she instructed. "What can I get you all today?" As the nine of them ordered, Rose looked round and saw a beautiful deep red Broadwood and Sons baby grand piano. "Dad, can I..?" she asked Ron, gesturing to the piano. "Yeah, sure. Go ahead," he said.

She wandered over to the piano and sat down. She ran her fingers gently over the beautiful black-and-white keys. "Absolutely gorgeous," she muttered, and began to play "For the Love of a Princess" from memory, as Hermione had taught her.

People in the restaurant turned to the girl, mezmerized. "Why, that girl can't be more than fourteen or fifteen," said one lady in wonder, "but she plays so well!"

In came the Malfoy family. "Hey, Rose!" Scorpius called to his friend. "I didn't know you played!" "Yeah, my mum taught me as a kid!" said Rose. "Twenty Sickles and a kiss say I can beat you in a piano duel," Scorpius challenged. "You're on!" Rose said. So Scorpius started playing a jazz number, but Rose interrupted him with "We Shall Overcome." "Oh, you want to play like that? Well, take THAT!" said Scorpius, playing "Drowsy Maggie." "Fine, then," said Rose. She got up and started to dance. "Show-off!" accused Scorpius. "Right on, Rose!" cheered Seamus Finnegan.
"You cheated! I win!" said Scorpius. "Oh, all right, fine," said Rose, handing him the twenty Sickles. She went outside, but Scorpius followed her. "No so fast. You bet me a kiss, remember?" he said. "I've actually wanted to kiss you since we were thirteen," said Rose. "Good," grinned Scorpius. "So kiss me already." And she did. Oh, yes, she did.
