Resurgent

Resurgent- increasing or reviving after a period of little activity, popularity, or occurrence. From Latin 'rising again'.

We'll meet again.

He hears those words on constant replay in his mind.

Can't get that creepy song out of his head no matter how hard he tries.

From the moment he realized that Beckett was in danger, his mind had been set on auto-pilot. His thoughts consumed with finding her, with figuring out Tyson and Nieman's plan.

But through the determination, those words linger, flooding in and out of his thoughts, driving him mad with the need to know what they've done with his wife.

We'll meet again.

It's maddening.

Absolutely maddening to constantly hear those words and know that a day he thought would never come is now almost over and Tyson slipped through their fingers once again, walked out of the precinct and to wherever Beckett has been taken.

Tyson's game is well known to Castle.

And that is Castle's leverage.

Kate once told him that she didn't know he had that side. A side that only makes itself known when his loved ones are threatened. A side that he keeps buried deep down inside because he knows what he's capable of when it's allowed to breach the surface.

Anger flares from the depths of his soul, branching out through each limb, racing through his veins in a fury.

He lets it build, lets that side of him take over.

It rises. Rebuilds. Returns.

Revenge is sweet isn't a term that he thought he would ever use, but he finds the thought racing through his mind, along with the ones that continue to haunt him.

We'll meet again.

Oh yes, he will meet Tyson and Neiman again, and the outcome for the serial killer duo who've taken his wife doesn't look good.

That side of him that only few have seen? It's a nightmare. A complete and total nightmare compared to the man that he usually is.

A raging, relentless, disastrous nightmare that stops only when it has destroyed its target.

He positions himself in front of the mirror, stares into the storm that is building behind the sharp cerulean of his eyes.

Determination.

Concentration.

Rage.

Passion.

Love.

Each word forms a piece of the storm, linking together, building a whirlwind of fury that is sure to destroy anything in its path. And that last word binds him to the storm, holds him together in all of the places that threaten to fall apart. Love.

But although only two people lie in the path of this storm, they aren't the only ones who have 'returned'.

Jerry Tyson and Kelly Nieman have yet to meet this side of Richard Castle.

A plan rises to the surface.

And the man that stares back at him prepares for battle.

We'll meet again.

Oh yes, we will.
