~The people with the prettiest smiles hide the deepest secrets. The prettiest eyes have cried the most tears. And the kindest hearts have felt the most pain.~

On an early November morning the sun slowly rose up in the sky, it's light shining in all the homes in the small town of Berk. One home in particular belongs to the town's Mayor, Stoick the Vast as he was commonly known. The light shined through a window on the second floor landing on a pile of blankets which belonged to Stoick's son, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third. As the clock on the bedside being to beep a hand reached out from under the pile of blankets and slammed down on the clock effectively shutting it up. With a sigh the blankets fell from the bed as Hiccup stood up and walked over to his closet to get ready for another horrible day at high school.

It wasn't uncommon for a teenager to dread going to school especially high school but Hiccup had his own reasons to hate school. Grades weren't a problem for him he was probably the smartest kid in school, he even took senior classes even though he was a sophomore. One thing was he had no friends, he kept to himself and rarely ever spoke to anyone. No one wanted anything to do with Hiccup, he was an outcast. He was also the favorite victim of the football team who tormented him everyday throwing him in to lockers, beating him up, and just doing anything they can to ruin his day. Even with all that the school in some ways was the safest place for Hiccup. Since the death of his mother his father changed, turning from a loving father to a heartless man. Stoick took out his anger on Hiccup blaming him for his mother's death even though it was really the fault of a drunk.

Hiccup let another sigh escape his lips as his emerald eyes scanned his closest looking for something with long sleeves. He dresses in a pair of dark jeans, a long sleeve olive green shirt, a dark brown jacket, and a pair of converses. Hiccup glanced at himself in the mirror, a scrawny auburn haired boy with freckles dotting his face, a button nose, big emerald eyes, stared back at him. Since his mother's death almost a full year ago, Hiccup started losing weight due to the fact there was rarely anything for to eat leaving him looking like skin and bones. Hiccup turned away from the mirror and grabbed his backpack running down the stairs in a mad dash to get to school on time. Like always his father was gone where Hiccup had no idea, Hiccup opened the door to the fridge hoping for something to eat. Like always the only thing in the fridge was beer cans, Hiccup shut the door wondering when or if his dad was going to get some food.

Hiccup walked out the door and started his morning walk to Berk High School, lucky for him the school was only a 15 minute trip from his house. In no time he reached the school heading straight for his locker, hoping that if he kept his head down no one would notice him as walked through the crowds of students. The Gods must have hated him because as soon as he reached his locker he felt two hands shove him hard from behind sending him flying in to the lockers.

Alright leave me a review and let me know what you think of the story so far! If you see any mistakes I need to fix let me know! Thanks :D
