For leaving me.
I was all alone,
For so long
And I endured so much.
The sorrow, the grief, the anger.
All of those emotions…
All of those feelings,
All for you.
I tried forgiving you,
I tried forgetting you.
I couldn't.
And after all that
Nothing Changed.
You still left,
And I still loved.
I was alone
With no one to hold.
People walked by
And I said "goodbye"
I couldn't stand the pain,
So, I looked for you.
I looked and looked….
"Where are you?"
And for a while…
I lost hope.
And eventually,
I returned home.
No one was there,
Of course.
Time went by
And I began hating you,
More and More.
My love turned to sadness,
My sadness turned to grief,
My grief turned to anger,
And my anger eventually turned to…
Hatred.
Then, all of a sudden
You appear.
You ask me for so many things I can't do,
You want me to forgive, to forget.
I couldn't, I wouldn't.
And….as you held me,
I remembered
All of the anger and hate towards you,
And myself, as it burned up inside of me.
It was silent for a long time,
And finally I had spoken what I truly felt.
I looked in to his eyes and whispered,
"I hate you"
And walked away.
