It was one of those days where you spiked your coffee. I had had a late night last

night. Actually I had had late nights for the last 3 days. My so called friend from

California where I had spent some time was getting married for the 5th time. I had been a

godmother to all four of her kids. And from what the eldest tells me the guys she dates

are total jerks, I couldn't figure out why she does this to herself. Anyway she wants me

to be the maid of honor, again. And to top it off, I was still finding it hard getting use to

the mess Ecklie created when he broke up the team. My name is Sarah Sidle and this is

my messed up life (well at least its mine).

Stopping at the Starbucks on the way to work, I say to the cashier on the other

side of the window, "Double latte, light cream, with chocolate syrup please," she rings up

the order saying, "Have a good day miss," well at least someone was perky today. I smile

taking my coffee and humor the girl, "It would be if people would stop killing other

people and start smelling the roses." I notice a look of confusion cross her face, and just

nod my head and smile, paying the young girl and pulling out onto the highway to head

to work.

Greg was always just pulling in when I was, "Hey Greggo, how's life,

love…….oh hell, you and I don't have one." Greg looks a bit confused, but smiles

noticing that my conversation was light, (I was just joking), "You no if they paid us by

the amount time we loose sleep on this job, you and I would be rolling in the dough,

Sarah honey." He puts his arm around my waist and we walk companionably into the

office.
