AUTHOR'S NOTE
Here it is! The sequel to my first story, Visons of the moon. Just to clarify a few things, I will have it in any POV that I feel will fit the situation or conversation I write except the action scenes or any scene that I think would fit with that format, those will be in a 3rd person POV. I think doing it that way is more fitting and I will be able to write about the others involved in the action sequence as opposed to just having it in one person's POV.
Also, this story may be longer than the previous one because I have many things that I would like to add to it. I don't know if I will write a third story but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea. If you have any questions regarding this story or my first one, please feel free to ask. That goes for suggestions as well.
There is a bit of fluff in this chapter, but nothing explicit. Wouldn't want this story to be purged before it even had a chance to be read now would we? Hopefully the violence isn't too bad either.
And to the idiots who felt the urge to favorite then rat out many authors for writing those "Characters read the series" stories need to grow the hell up. That is easily the most childish thing you can do on the internet and that is saying something.
T.J. POV
I was lying on the bed in Tanya's room or should I say, our room. She said that this room was mine just as much as it was her's. So anyway I was laying in our bed with Tanya sprawled out on top of me. We just finished being intimate for...I lost count of how many times we had been together today. Scratch that, for the past two months. Days after we got here I finally got the courage to be with her in that way. The day before we did, I had a conversation with Eleazar and Carmen.
FLASHBACK
Carmen, Eleazar, and I were sitting in the living room. Tanya and Kate had volunteered to help Nahuel, Hulien, and Garrett transition with their new diet again. Leah wanted to show her support by going with them and I said I would stay behind. I cited that I would probably be distracting and that it could prove to be a hinderance. She nodded and kissed me on the cheek before they left.
It's a good thing that these two had already hunted so it would be easier to try and talk to them without the others over hearing. I told them not long after the others left that I wanted to speak with them. They both nodded and told me to take a seat. I sat there and I was really nervous but I needed to have this conversation.
"Technically I should have this conversation with Tanya," I began. "But she may not have the answer for this discussion and it may make things akward between us."
I paused and they nodded for me to continue.
"I was wondering how um, being mated worked out for the two of you." I said. "Especially on the...intimate side."
They both nodded again.
"You wish to know how we dealt with our...urges." Eleazar said and I nodded once. "You must understand that every mated pair is different, but in the beginning we are rather...'
"Horny?" Carmen offered after he trailed off and I gaped at her. "What?" She asked.
"Nothing." I said. "I just didn't think you would be one to say that."
She shrugged but smiled a little.
"Yes, horny." Eleazar said sounding a little flustered. "We tend to have difficulty of keeping those feelings in check when we both decide to be intimate."
"How long does that usually last?"
"Like I said before, every mated pair is different." He said. "And therefore, the results are different as well. There is no rhyme or reason to this sort of thing."
"When Eleazar and I crossed into that territory," Carmen murmured. "We could hardly go five minutes without touching each other."
"Carmen!" Eleazar cried and she grinned at him.
"What's wrong my love?" She asked batting her eye lashes. "You know it's true."
"That's not the point." He said. "I doubt our brother want's to hear that."
They both turned to me.
"As informative as that would be," I said while my face felt hot. "It won't be necessary. Thank you for your time."
They both nodded and I got up and left the room.
END FLASHBACK
Later that day I packed a duffle bag filled with food and water just in case I didn't leave the room for a while. When Tanya got back I asked her if I could speak to her. When we were in the room I told her that I wanted to try and get together. I then had to explain that I meant physically because she was confused and said that we already were. She seemed hesitant to try and I got where she was coming from. She was afraid that she would lose it and end up draining me. I told her we would take it slow and work on controling ourselves and our nerves.
We did take it slow. We just touched each other softly before we each rewarded the other with firmer touches which lead to us making love for the first time. It went pretty well and we didn't have anything bad happening. Except when we got a little rough and I broke the dresser by pinning Tanya up against it. Or when the bed frame collapsed from the force of our passionate but aggresive sex act.
We didn't bother to replace the frame because we expected the new one to just break. So when Tanya wasn't helping the others, and when I wasn't eating, she would practically throw me on to bed and...well you get the idea. Now though, I was running my hand through her slightly messy hair as she was doing one of her favorite hobbies; drawing meaningless patterns on my stomach.
"Shame we can't do that again," She said with a sigh. "I don't think I have thanked you enough for this."
She stopped drawing and held her hand up to show me her engagement ring. Oh, did I forget to mention that? My bad. A few days ago I finally asked her to marry me. I took her to a meadow that had a great view over looking the park and the nearby lake. I was really nervous so I joked that the only thing missing was a really high cliff to jump off of. She responded accordingly by smacking me in the back of the head.
She didn't hit me that hard but I lurched forward anyway so I could get down on one knee. She frowned and made the motion to help me up when she saw me pull out a small box and froze. I opened it and held it out to her. I told her that this was my mother's and that she gave it to me before we left Washington.
I told her that I would always do my best to make her happy. I rambled on and on before she practically tackled me to the ground and kissed me.
"Yes, a thousand times yes!" She told me although I was too dazed to respond with words so I just kissed her again.
We stayed there for who knows how long before I picked her up and bolted to the house. We bypassed a confused looking Carmen and Kate as well as a smiling Garrett and Eleazar. They knew what I was doing and helped me gather my wits. I was a part of their family now and I was forever grateful for their help, even though part of me thought they might have seen Tanya and I having sex before we were married let alone engaged as a bad thing. I stupidly said this out loud while we had our 'Guy's Day Out' so we could get to know each other a little better. Instead of being offended they just laughed.
When they asked why, I told them it was because they were from time periods where that was frowned upon. That just made them laugh even more. Garrett calmed down enough to talk to me but Eleazar was actually rolling on the ground, laughing like a lunatic.
"It is true that we come from the days where such a thing would cause a scandal." He said. "But know this little brother, times have changed. I know a person or a group of people say that at least once every generation, but unlike them, I have seen it. I was changed during a war that basically shaped the way this country was destined to be. I was there when the world was at war not once, but twice. I saw the citizens of this fine country turn on each other because of the color of their skin. And then I saw such foolishness be abolished in favor of a more...understanding approach."
He paused and his orange eyes locked with my green ones.
"I won't pretend that this world is without faults, quite the contrary, it is riddled with them." He murmured and I noticed Eleazar stopped laughing and nodded in agreement. "They say immortatlity is a curse and to be frank, it is. Especially in my case or rather, my kind. The price we have to pay to sustain us is to take the life of another. Sure, I don't have to do that now, what with chasing Bambi and all, but it didn't make it any less harder to deal with all that I have done. But there is a silver lining in all of this." He paused and I raised an eyebrow at him. "I get to see how people can change, how the world has changed, how it has learned from it's mistakes. I didn't die thinking that the world had gone to shit and I get to see it all up front."
He grasped my shoulders.
"As I said before, what you two have done would be frowned upon. But we would never judge you for that." He said sternly and Eleazar nodded again. "You two are in love and will do what you feel is right. We can't and won't hold that against you."
He patted my shoulder and stepped back.
"Thanks." I told him and he shrugged.
"Don't mention it." He said with a grin. "Now I do believe you owe me a sparring session."
I sparred with him until it got really late and we headed back. I felt kinda bad for not spending more time with Leah, Nahuel, and Hulien but they had their own things to deal with.
With Leah it was the fact that she finally got away from La Push and on top of that, she imprinted. I'm sure she wanted a quiter life but she's the happiest I've seen her in a long time so I guess it doesn't matter. Nahuel never thought he would find his match let alone with someone from a different species but it never stopped him from being in love with Leah. His aunt was happy for him but she was having trouble adjusting to this way of life. She didn't slip up but I could tell she was a little disgruntled by the taste.
I was brought out of my thoughts by Tanya who decided to grind her hips into me which caused a groan to escape my lips. I looked up and she was staring at me with a raised eyebrow and her hands on my chest.
"Didn't you hear me?" She murmured and I shook my head. "I said I was going to take a shower and you were welcomed to join me."
"As tempting as that is," I said as I grabbed her hips. "We wouldn't be leaving the bathroom for a while, let alone intact, if we did. So I'm afraid I have to decline."
She pouted so I sat up and burried my face in her chest which caused her to moan.
"I'll make it up to you." I said pulling back and looking at her in the eye. She narrowed them at me.
"You better." She snarled before she snagged a few pecks from me and crawled out of my lap. She could have flitted away but instead she sashayed slowly towards the bathroom in our room. I cocked my head to the side and stared at one particular area of her back. I was staring so intetly that I didn't take notice of the fact that she had stopped.
"Like what you see?" She asked and I smirked.
"Of course." I said as I got up from the bed. "I think I will join you."
She beamed at me and threw her arms around my neck. I grabbed the back of her thighs to lift her off of the floor and she wrapped her legs around me. She started kissing me but I stopped walking.
"Baby," I murmured between kisses. "I can't see."
She said nothing but stopped kissing my lips to bury her face into my neck.
"We have to be quick." I breathed as she nuzzled the crook of my neck. I strolled into the bathroom and closed the door.
3 HOURS LATER
After we dried ourselves off and got dressed, we left the room and headed downstairs.
"Blast these modern devices!" I heard Kate yell. "Why must they be so difficult?"
I tried hard not to laugh as we got into the living room. There were various cords and electronic devices strewn all over the place. It seemed like the electronic section of every major store in the country blew up in the living room. Kate was frantically trying to read the instructions of every machine she had. Nintendo Wii's, Kaossilator's, MIDI Pad controllers were just the few things that were out of their packaging.
When we stepped into view, she stopped what she was doing and ran to us.
"Help me!" She wailed as she dragged us to where she was standing. "I don't know why they won't work for me!"
"I got it." I murmured and got to work. Embry and Irina were coming over to visit for spring break and Embry had challanged Kate to an electronic duel. One that involved music and games. She accepted without realizing that she had no knowledge about any of these things. I would have finished setting up in 5 minutes had she not tangled every wire that she touched.
"How did you know how to do that?" She asked after I finished installing the sound system.
"I helped Emmett a couple of times." I explained. "He's alway's breaking his game consoles and well any form of technology to be honest. He needed an extra set of hands and I happened to be there..." I trailed off with a shrug.
"Could you help me with that too?" She asked pointing to the musical tech. I shrugged again.
"Sure." I said. "I have similar stuff from my birthday so I might be able to give some tips."
She nodded and I started setting those things up as well.
"Did the others go hunting?" I asked without looking up.
"Yeah." She said sighing. "Garrett offered to help but I told him I had it. He wanted to stay but he needed to hunt and I already did."
"Go find him." I said. "It must suck to be apart and I can handle this from here."
I looked up at her to see that she was smiling.
"Are you sure?" She asked and I nodded which caused her smile to widen. "Thanks little brother!"
She kissed me on the cheek and left the house.
"That was kind of you." I heard Tanya murmur. I turned to her and smiled.
"I would want someone to do the same for me." I said honestly and she smiled too.
I finished setting everything up and Leah, Nahuel, and Hulien came back. Leah asked if I wanted to spar because she was eager to train with her daggars again.
The first time I offered her to take a weapon, she refused. I sweetened the deal by saying she could have two. She thought about it and looked over the inventory that the Romanians gave me. She took two identical daggars that could double for hunting knives. The length of each blade was about 10 inches. The handle was 6 inches long. It was silver with black scales and it had a slight curve to it at the hilt which had the symbol II on it. Most people would think that it was a Roman numeral but I said it was a Greek symbol.
Leah asked me how I knew and I told her what I knew about the Romanians. When I was finished she asked if I knew what it meant and I told her it was the symbol of the Gemini twins, Castor and Pollux. She decided to name them that even though she never had any intentions of doing so because she thought it was stupid. She only did it because she didn't want us to hassle her for naming them.
Before I could repond to her offer, a vision of a group of vampires flashed threw my eyes. There were 4 red heads being chased by a group of 20. They ran into our family near a stream that was 20 miles away from the house.
"Help us!" One of them said.
My family sprung into action, causing the group to stop and that's when the vision ended. I blinked and flashed out of the room to mine so I could grab Alika. I flashed to Leah's room and grabbed Castor and Pollux. I ran back to the room and handed them to her.
"What the-"
"Not now." I growled cutting her before turning to Tanya. "Call Irina and tell her to meet us near the stream where all of you hunt. Quickly, we don't have much time, the others are in trouble."
No one said anything except Tanya who made the call. I headed for the back door and I heard the others follow. I twisted the wolf head on Alika as I opened the door and bolted towards the others.
3rd Person POV
The four members of the Denali clan near the stream stood their ground as the 20 new vampires stopped to assess the new arrivals. The group had no idea of how to deal with these golden eyed vampires. Some wondered how they got that color while others had to quickly disguise their disgust and contempt for them. They hated the idea of draining animals as opposed to humans. Humans were weak and they were strong so why should they let them live? The strong survive and the weak must die. That's how it has been since the dawn of time. Finally, a vampire that looked physically 30 with jet black hair stepped forward.
"We have no quarrel with you." He said in southern accent while eyeing each and every one of them. "Give us those young ones and we will go on our way."
"These young ones have asked for our help, which we are more than willing give to them." Eleazar said calmly while checking to see if any of them were gifted. Finding that there was only one besides Kate, himself, and the two out of the four new vampires behind had powers, he continued. "And this our territory, so I would appreciate it if you left."
"Your territory?" One of the others in the back asked curiously. "How do you manage that?"
"It doesn't matter." A tall blonde vampire snapped as he stepped forward. "Just get the hell out of our way."
"And if we don't?" Kate asked with an eyebrow raised. The vampire turned to regard her and smirked before walking towards her. Garrett gave him a warning growl but the vampire ignored him.
"I would hate to ruin such a pretty face." He murmured as he made the motion to touch her face.
The second he touched her skin he felt an electric spark course through his body. It wasn't a sign of the mating bond and he knew it. He narrowed his eyes and raised his fist to strike her. He wasn't fast enough however, because Kate had gotten the upper hand or rather, lower hand. She grabbed his balls with enough force to shatter a boulder. To top it all off, she hit him with a massive electric current which caused him to stop screaming and drop to the ground twitching, much to the shock of the members of his group.
"No one said you could touch me." Kate said coldly.
The group got over their shock and growled at Kate.
"Get them!" The vampire from earlier spoke.
Before they moved, they heard something fly through the air. Two vampires turned to the source a little too late. One got a daggar lodged in his neck the other had one lodged in his face. They all turned and saw five people, two of them vampires, heading towards them. They all stood frozen in shock again as a women who looked about twenty six with bronze skin flashed her way over to the two vampires from before and ripped their heads apart by dragging the daggars horizontally.
A man who looked to be about the same age had green eyes and a metal spike in his hand. He twirled it before he started slashing at several vampires causing some to lose their limbs or fall to the ground in pain. He impaled a few in the neck and snapped their heads of. A few members of this group tried to move forward but they were attacked from Eleazar, Kate, and Garrett. They were then attacked by two people from behind them.
There was a man with bangs that parted to the side. He looked like he was in his twenties and he had a scythe like weapon. He swung his blade with precise attacks that either left the enemy headless, or without a few limbs. He cackled in glee when one of the vampires stepped on the head of another vampire, slipped and fell backwards. His companion, a female vampire that looked like she was around the same age, helped rip apart any vampire she could grab.
The green eyed man grinned at the new comers.
"Hey little brother." He said as he wacked a vampire that tried to sneak up on him with the back of his hand. "What's shakin'?"
The other man grinned back and stabbed a vampire that was behind him with his scythe.
"Not much." He said shrugging. "Looks like we got here just in time."
"Look out!" They both yelled as each had a vampire creeping up behind him. They each threw their weapons at the offending vampire opposite them. They both spun around and grabbed the others weapon and shredded the two vampires that never stood a chance. They both turned back and grinned at each other before they held out the weapons.
"I believe this is yours." They said at the same time while handing over the weapons in their hand. "I thank you." They said as they each got their respective weapons back.
They both glanced around to see that the group of twenty had dwindled down to six. Well six able bodied vampires. The green eyed man studied them as they slowly backed away. He twisted the the metal ring on the end of his spike and pulled it apart slowly to reveal a thin wire not unlike the one you would use for a piano.
"No one said you could move." The green eyed man told the vampires coldly as they tried to back away. His green eyes became amber as he glared at them. They froze in their spots and said nothing. Even the vampires on the ground stopped moving to listen. The amber eyed man glanced at a strawberry blonde vampire he arrived with earlier. "They're all yours."
TANYA POV
"Why did you come here?" I demanded of the group in front of me. Thomas could have questioned them but he left that to me as I was the Coven leader. "Who sent you?"
They said nothing.
"The lady asked you a question." Thomas sneered. "You will do well to answer her."
"Why should we?" One of them blurted out before covering his mouth.
"I am Tatiana Denali, daughter of Sasha and leader of the Alaskan Coven." I said hotly. "Your group has encroached on my territory and threatened another group that was offered protection," I glanced at the group behind me who were being guarded by Nahuel, Leah, Carmen, and Huilen. I noticed that Huilen was very close to one of the boys, but I put that aside for now. "That was offered protection by a member of my family and will be protected until they decide to leave. Now, why are you here?"
Again no response.
"We should just ask the group behind us," Garrett said, "And get rid of them." He jerked his chin in their direction. "It would not be wise to let them leave."
I knew this but I wanted to hear what these vampires in front of me had to say. I was hoping to get possible information on who they served if they served anyone. Their clothes gave nothing away. It was clothes normal people would wear while walking down the street. There was nothing that showed any sign that they belong to specific coven. I sighed and looked over at my brother.
"Very well." I said and headed to the new group. "Come, we have much to discuss and I don't think you should see this."
"Where are we going?" One of the girls asked timidly.
"To my house 20 miles from here." I said softly.
They all glanced at each other except the boy that was standing by Hulien. They were both staring at each other with smiles on their faces. I frowned for a second before I realize that she and the boy were mated.
"Honey girl." I heard Thomas say and I turned to him. "You should get going. We'll take care of them, and check to see if there is anyone else."
"There isn't." The girl said. We both turned to her but she kept her head down.
"Just take her word for it." One of the other boys said eyeing Thomas suspiciously. "Trust me, she's not lying."
I turned back to Thomas who was staring at one of them sadly before he glanced at me and nodded. I frowned but didn't question it.
"I'll meet you back home." He said before kissing me on the cheek.
"Ok." I said before turning to the group. "If you don't want to come, I'll understand but I would advise against staying in this area too long just in case a search party comes."
They all turned to one of the girls who looked like she was in her early twenties. She looked at all of them before turning to me and nodding.
"We'll go with you." She said and I nodded.
"Follow me." I said before sprinting towards the house and they followed as I heard metallic screeching behind us.
EMBRY POV
We slowly moved towards the house after we torched those leeches. Yes I can say that because they weren't family and they were not only harming humans, they would pontentially hurt people in our care and protection. I could have sprinted to the hosue but I hung back to talk to my brother who I only talked to over the phone or when we phased. Usually, one would be happy to see their family. Now though, I was frowning at him. He was beeing very quiet and there was guilt and sadness laced in his features. I nudged him but he didn't acknowledge me. I grabbed his arm to stop him from moving.
"What's wrong?" I asked. He said nothing at first, he just stared off into the distance.
"I know one of those girls." He said in a small voice.
"How so?" I asked and I noticed the others that didn't go with Tanya had stopped moving to listen.
"Do you remember what I said to Afton when we were in Forks?" He asked and I frowned slightly.
"You said a lot of things." I told him. "Could you be more specific?"
"Do you remember the name Elena McIntyre?" He asked and I nodded. He turned to me. "The girl that just left, was her."
My mouth dropped open.
"Are you sure?" I asked and he nodded.
"Apart from her eyes being a shade lighter than gold," He said. "It's her."
"What do you mean, a shade lighter than gold?" I asked he didn't answer, but Irina did.
"When a vampire takes to drinking the blood of animals, it takes awhile for the red in our eyes to fade." She explained. "It starts off with orange then amber," She glanced at Thomas. "Or something close to it. It takes close to a year before your eyes become gold."
"If you count the month I had a vision about her," T.J. said. "She's at least 5 months old with her siblings being roughly the same age. Would that be long enough for the color to change that way?"
"If they stuck to the diet then yes." She said but something else caught my attention.
"You had a vision of her?" I asked and he nodded.
"It involved that bastard Afton." He growled. "There was another vampire named Ivan but I didn't see him among the group we just burned." He frowned before he shook his head. "Let's talk about this inside."
He shrugged my hand off and trudged forward. I frowned and glanced at Irina who was staring at him worriedly. I glanced at the others as they followed him. Irina and I went over the stream to get my bag before heading after them. I sure as hell hope my brother is ok.
I'll try and update as much as I usually do. Let me know how you felt about the 3rd person pov. It was the first time I did that and hopefully I pulled it off.
