I don't know what to say right now. Perhaps later. Anyways, this is written with my little knowledge of the books. I've read most of them so don't get mad when I portray them differently. Hopefully you'll like this little chapter. Oh, please review!

Chapter 1

-Day 1-

Oh, a new journal. What a wonderful and considerate gift! Not. Seriously, who still writes in journals these days? Well, obviously me. Today is the day. Once night falls, I'll be out of here. Hopefully, I'll never have to come back to this place ever again.

-Jack

Jack closed the soft green cover of his journal and flopped on his bed. Today, he was going to bust out of here and never come back. He had a place in mind that was shown to him by Sebastian, the friendly chef. He used to live there and he always told stories about that place, to the others and Jack, it sounded like heaven. He sighed and rolled on his stomach. He wouldn't have to wait long. When night comes, it falls quickly. One second it's bright, and the next it would be so dark, you wouldn't be able to see your own hand in front of you. He closed his eyes, all he had to do now was wait.

Alarms blared as explosion after explosion racked the building, turning it into a pile of rubble. In the dark, Jack slipped away.

He ran through the valley as fast as he could. He chuckled, realizing that the hours he spent training was worth having the ability to sense things without sight. On either side of him were cliffs at least a couple hundred feet high.

No problem, he thought and jumped onto the nearest ledge and made his way up with inhuman precision. In no time at all, he reached the top and began sprinting towards his heaven.

-Day 4-

Leo grumbled and walked along the path.

"Of course it's me. Hey Leo do this, do that, could you do that please? I wanted to go with them on the trip to the park but no, I have to stay behind and do chores for Chiron." He walked along the path and nearly fell face flat while he was busy complaining. He stumbled and turned around with an annoyed look on his face until he saw what he tripped over.

An arm. He nearly freaked until he saw it was connected to the rest of the body. He carefully walked over to the seemly dead body and poked it.

"Ow." came a reply and the body moved into a sitting position. Leo jumped and stared at him. The strange kid had wavy hair that would have looked like a mane if it wasn't pitch black. He had a thin, long braid embedded with ribbons that had strange symbols on them. He had an icy green eye but his left eye was covered by an eye patch. Leo noticed the scar that ran down one side of his face.

"How long are you going to stare at me?" the boy spoke, making Leo return to reality.

"Sorry." Leo said rubbing the back of his neck. "Who are you?" he asked.

"I'm Jack, and you?" he answered. Leo was somewhat surprised at how easy this conversation was.

"I'm Leo, what are you doing here?"

"Just looking for a safe place from the hunters." Jack replied starting to stand up. At full height, Leo realized how scary he actually looked. The stranger was way taller than Leo was and he radiated a sort of dangerous aura.

"Can you take me to uh…" he paused for a moment to think, "I think he was called Chiron?"

Leo nodded and started to walk back to the cabins with a strange new kid in tow.

So how was it? Hopefully not too bad. Well, see you next time. *falls asleep*
