Birth of West-Allen twins.
I do not own Flash. Please read and review:)
Iris West-Allen was now a couple of days past her due-date and both her dad and Barry were driving her crazy; they were both watching her like hawks and it was really, really annoying her. She knew that she was carrying twins, but she was not worried, because she had been born a couple of weeks late herself. She had only gone on Maternity leave from Picture News when her boss had forced her to do so and even then, Caitlin had had to convince her that working that close to her due date would not be good for the babies.
That evening, when Iris was sitting reading, whilst Barry and Joe were watching the football, she suddenly began to feel 'it;. She shot a look to her husband, who understood and picked her up into his arms, before racing off.
"Baby, how are you? Are you ok?" Joe asked, as he walked into his daughter's room after finally making it to the hospital. He walked over to her and kissed her on the head, hoping and praying that all was well. Barry was sitting beside her, looking as nervous as he felt. How on Earth was she remaining so calm through all of this?
Smiling with love and affection in her eyes, Iris replied, "I'm fine, Daddy. Really, I"- she suddenly stopped speaking, feeling a sharp stab of pain which she knew meant that the babies were coming. "Iris, are you ok?" Barry asked, his voice shaking with nerves. He squeezed her hand and Joe held her other hand as she began to push the babies out.
An hour later, there were two healthy babies in Barry and Iris's arms and Joe was beside himself with happiness that he was finally a grandfather. Iris had the baby boy in her arms, whilst Barry was completely consumed with his baby girl, who was a copy of Iris in every way imaginable.
"What are you going to call them?" Joe finally asked, breaking the comfortable and beautiful silence. Iris looked over at her husband lovingly, as she replied, "Well, the girl's Nora West-Allen. What about the boy, Barry? What name would suit him, do you think?"
Barry kissed his newly-named daughter on the head, before replying, "How about Ben? Ben Joseph West-Allen?" He passed his daughter to Joe, who was honoured that his name was included in his grandson's name and he smiled down at his granddaughter. Barry leaned his face closer to Iris's and whispered, "We did it, Iris. I love you so much."
Smiling, Iris suddenly kissed him and then told him, "I love you more, Barry Allen."
