Lying Game Fan Fiction:
Life After the Funeral:
Preface:
Even though it isn't mandatory for me to watch over my long lost twin sister, Emma anymore, I've realized I do quite miss it. Heaven definitely is all it's chalked up to be, but the ties of an identical twin are a lot stronger.
Chapter One:
It was Christmas morning in the Mercer household, Emma's first ever with the Mercers!
"MERRY CHRISTMAS EMMA!", Emma woke with a start, blinking sleep out of her eyes as she sat up to see Laurel staring at her expectantly with a huge wrapped box in her hands. "Wake up already sleepy head! OPEN it!" Laurel said practically exploding with excitement.
"Alright, alright! Calm down!", I watched as Emma slowly pried the tape carefully so as not to rip the gorgeous high-end vintage candy cane wrapping paper.
"GAWD, I don't have all day Ms. Perfectionist!" I laughed to myself at my sister's impatience.
After what seemed like forever, Emma had all the paper off and was wiping a tear from her eye. Laurel had picked out a lovely outfit, to add to Emma's collection of Emma style clothing. Laurel had picked out a red moto jacket, a pair of Jolt dark blue skinny jeans, a loose fitting grey and white striped comfy sweetheart neck t-shirt, and a pair of leather riding boots.
"Laurel, I love it!" Emma exclaimed, throwing her arms around Laurel.
"Well I knew you would!" Laurel said with fake smugness. "Now you have to wear it for everyone to see what the new Emma looks like!"
"Oh I will." Emma said.
There was a knock on the door, and Mrs. Mercer, or "Mom" as she had told Emma to call her, peeked in "Merry Christmas my beautiful girls! Can I come in." Mom exclaimed.
"Come in, Laurel was just giving me her present." Emma said inviting her Grandmother in.
"Oooh can I see?!" Mom said a big smile on her face. Emma handed her the big box with a huge smile on her face.
"This is quite tasteful Laurel, and I can't wait to see it on you Emma!" Mom put the box down and hugged both Emma and Laurel, and Emma melted into her hug easily.
"What do you girls want for breakfast? I was thinking maybe cinnamon rolls, and that Twinings Christmas tea!"
"Cinnamon rolls for me!" Emma was excited by the thought of having Christmas morning breakfast with the whole Mercer family for the first time, having a real family for the first time felt really special to Emma. It felt nice to be included it had taken a while but the Mercer family was finally starting to warm up to her, it had been only a month since the funeral.
"I'll have Cinnamon rolls too!" Laurel said "With extra icing!" a mischievous grin spreading over her round face.
"Breakfast will be ready then in about half an hour then! I'll see you both down there then!" Mom said before leaving the room.
"Cya at Breakfast!" Laurel skipped out of the room in a wave of Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume.
