Going for a run with my partner Cosmo, a Growlithe, I began to turn the corner of the woods to my home. His fur was slightly damp from a small amount of sweat from the run, and his tail brushed against my leg. This was normal and just as we began to see our home, he started to act out of character for him.

Rather than following me to front door, Cosmo sprinted to a small clearing in the dense forest, his nose twitching wildly. I frowned as the usually obedient fire dog growled at my orders to come back to me. My ponytail thumped against my neck as I followed him.

Tripping over a large rock, I used my hands to push off from the ground as I spotted a pokemon chained in a small cage. Stepping over to the small bird, I crouched to look at the strange pokemon. This one, as I figured, was not from here, and it looked frightened to see a human.

Whistling for Cosmo to come to me, I heard a quiet pant behind me. "Cosmo, I want you to shot the chains with a small amount of fire. Don't hurt the pokemon there however." I commanded, and watched as he tilted his head back to fuel the weak blast.

Unsure of what to do, the small eagle looking pokemon launched itself at me. I jumped backwards as the compact creature rammed into me, doing more damage to itself than me. I heard a loud bark come from Cosmo as he glanced at the attacking pokemon, seemingly conflicted on if he should attack it.

The barking seemed to make the pokemon on my chest confused and I pulled out my pokedex to see if what it was. The device could only identify the pokemon as a Rufflet. I figured that he, as the tech knew gender ratios and Rufflet was a male only pokemon, was discolored and didn't match the image that was pulled up.

The Rufflet was grasping at my tank top, his claws leaving tears in the fabric. I could feel the rapid heart beat of him, and realized that he was terrified out of his mind. Ruffled feathers tickled my skin and I stroked the golden feathers gently. This seemed to ease his nerves and I felt a quiet cry emerge from his throat.

Cosmo must have sensed that the Rufflet wasn't hurting me, or at least intentionally. His back, which was tight as could be, loosened. I saw his eyes dart between my free hand and the bag that held my spare pokeballs. I connected what he wanted, for me to take care of the Rufflet.

I showed a regular pokeball to the flying type, and he poked it with his wing and got encased by the ball. Before I sent him back out, I glanced around for something base a nickname off of. Spotting a sign that said "Silicon City", an idea clicked in my head.

"Silicon, this is Cosmo. Welcome to the team, I promise to take care of you." I spoke to him after sending him out. I got a semi cheerful chirp from him, and Cosmo gave him a friendly lick. A quiet noise left Silicon's throat as he raised his objection, and I lifted him into my arms.

"Why don't we go home? I am feeling quite famished and the day is still young." I turned and left the clearing, Silicon City, to head back to my house. Cosmo remained by my feet this time, and Silicon was perched on my arm.
