"Great..." Loki mumbled to himself in the darkness. To the ebony haired brother's not-so-surprise, he was once again dragged on another voyage Thor wanted to go on. This adventure brought them to some unknown planet which was rocky and cold to the Tricksters displeasure. Only this time as if it was any different from the many others, they were lost. Halfway through their hike in finding a way back home, the younger of the two gods had suddenly disrupted the ground he stepped on and fallen through a large opening in the ground. With a yelp, Loki vanished under the rocky planet s surface and had fallen a great distance down. It took a second for Loki to shake off the pain of his landing.

"I should have seen this coming." Loki grumbled with a wince as he tried to pull himself up but in vain. Confused by what could be keeping him from getting up; he slowly outstretched his hand, letting a small ball of light conjure out of thin air and levitate and glow in his palm to see what appeared to be a boulder that pinned him down. "Thor, help!" Loki yelled out slightly panicked, hoping his brother hadn't run off far so he could assist his injured brother out of the cave.

Thor knew Loki oft had misgivings over their constant cavorting throughout the realms, and they many times ran into some form of trouble or another, but that was a part of the thrill of journeying. They might draw trouble, but there was no need to fear when the duo could combine their skills to escape any situation. Of course, two could only work together if they were together. The god heard the startled cry and, turning to see what had shocked his brother, loosed a shout of his own when he saw Loki was no longer near. This was bad. It was cold and freezing and now he'd lost a sibling. "Loki? Loki what happened to you?" He'd noticed the opening and now leaned down cautiously to peer into the darkness.

To Loki's misfortune his yell for help had only caused the tunnel he fell in to rattle. He was still frantically trying to get his body free from its hold under all the rubble. The emerald eyed Prince pulled until he figured that was a bad idea, whimpering slightly out of pain when he felt something crack in his leg which had vanished under the rocks. In his panic he must have been making it worse for his injured leg. So he tried the stone and began to try to push it off with all the strength he had. No matter how hard he would try to pull it off, nothing would budge. Even his own magic seemed to fail him in the situation when his ball of light went dim and then evaporated away. The ground and the stony walls around him groaned and creaked as if the tunnel was going to collapse on itself again. "Oh dear..." Loki murmured to himself, stilling and freezing in his spot, not wanting to make any sudden movements that could have him falling even further, but instead of the ground giving way, only more rocks fell from above him. Loki didn't have a chance to even block himself from the fall stones few landing too close for comfort, even one was able to get a hit to his face, making him scream out. His head hit the ground hard with the hit, bloodying his already dirty face. Though it didn't knock him out, it still hurt like hell. He gave out a small squeakish whimper, as he called out for his brother again. Fear slowly was making its way into his heart now.

"B-Brother..."

Thor rocked slightly on the edge of the crevice, bright blue eyes narrowed in a half-hearted attempt to pierce the shadows and make out his brother somewhere in the depths. The younger sibling was down there... somewhere, and he could hear nothing. So either the cave was deep, too deep for voices to travel far, or Loki was had been knocked out by the fall, or he might be... He gave a violent shake of his head, dislodging the creeping idea in the back of his head. No, he wouldn't think like that; there was simply no way for Loki to be dead. It was impossible that something as insignificant as a rent in the earth would take one of their lives after they'd been through far worse. Beneath his feet he could feel the ground rumbling slightly. "By the Nine," he muttered. The blonde looked about desperately; there must have been a safe way down, a way to find Loki in this mess. His searching gaze brought to his attention a series of ledges, nothing he might use in an ordinary time, but there was little chance to seek out more options.

"Loki, I don't know if you can hear me, but I found a path, I'm coming for you!" He bellowed down as loudly as he could, unthinking that a booming voice might only disturb the rocks more, and started working his way deeper, hands groping blindly in the dim light as he started down.

Loki was shaken and most likely wounded with a concussion but alive and awake, still trying to get his magic to work, though it was hard now since he was running on pure fear and panic. Then he heard something from above him. To Loki's relief, he could hear Thor's thunderous voice over head, which oddly brought him greatest comfort and peace to his mind in the situation. He gave a small sliver of a smile, content with knowing that his brother wasn't going to abandon him here. With that in mind he focused on calming himself, he needed to be strong for himself and for Thor. "N-No way am I dying i-in here..." He growled, trying again and again to get the simplest of magic spells he could use to start helping himself.

Finally after what felt like the fiftieth try, he was able to conjure the same ball of light as before. With a twitch of his pale hand, he beckoned the ball of light to him. "G-Go to my brother..." Loki commanded to it. "Help him and le-lead him to me...He will not be able to see without your guidance..." Like a loyal dog, the small bright light whirled once in understandment before zooming off and upwards to where it would soon find Thor. Knowing help would arrive soon, the raven haired brother groaned and fell back against the ground, too tired to fight against the stones that pinned him to the floor.

"Hu-Hurry Thor..." Loki mumbled into the ground.

Needless to say traveling down a rock face when one could scarcely see was hard. Scaling down said poorly-lit wall with cold-numbed hands was twice as rough. He'd poke and prod, attempting to find where the wall offered the best handholds, only the lack of feeling in his limbs was making the task worse. Still he made his way down doggedly, only once becoming overzealous, and the Thunder god slipped. With a panicked shout Thor reached out, a hand clutching one outcropping as his feet and other hands hung freely. He scrabbled wildly, searching for purchase along the stone while his occupied hand was growing steadily more cramped under the strain of holding him up. "Bad, this is very, very bad," he grunted, looking down into dark. If only he could see! Then things would be so much easier and he wouldn't be where he was now.

Even as he wished for a light, his eyes focused on a pinprick of brightness, strangely out of place in this cavern. He'd shrugged it off as a hallucination, only it grew bigger and brighter and soon it had joined him, floating beside and dispelling the shadows for a few precious feet. "Loki sent you, didn't he?" Thor grinned slightly at the thing, finding a new handhold revealed by the light. "I am glad he was undeterred by father's dislike of sorcery." With the new visibility, scrambling down the face went by smoothly and the warrior was soon back on solid ground. "C'mon, now, find your master, quick. Loki, I'm almost there!" He ran after the ball, which whizzed away down the tunnel and towards a stand of fallen rocks. "Loki?"

Loki who by now was teetering in and out of consciousnesses, snapped awake at the familiar voice of his brother. His raven lashes fluttered open to reveal dim emerald orbs which lazily made their way to the electric blue pair which looked down upon his beaten and broken frame. "Thor...?" Loki replied when he suddenly saw his ball of light and a tall figure behind it. He strained his battered frame to look more clearly and to his great relief it was for sure his brother who was stepping out of the darkness and into the shadows of the light that his ball of light was emitting.

"Thor...thank g-goodness it's you." Loki didn't care if this was simply a hallucination or not. It was his brother and boy was he a sight for sore eyes. He looked over to the small glimmering orb besides the two siblings and gave it a smile that one would give ones pet. "Good boy." He told it, which in turn made the light bounce slightly in the air. Loki turned his blurry eyes back to his brother, looking him up and down slowly.

"Are you alright...not hur-hurt are you...?" He asked, oblivious to the blood that was now running down his own face from his earlier hit to the head by one of the falling rocks. Ironically caring about his own brother's wellbeing then his own.

A rush of relief flooded the Asgardians veins as he saw the small, still form shift and respond to his name. There had been a terrifying moment where Thor thought he might have been too late. The orb of light may have been there, proving that magic still flowed, but even so seeing a broken body half-buried under rubble only the thought that his dear sibling was lost to him for good; that his thrill-seeking antics had gone a step too far this time. He knelt down by the paler boy, blue eyes running over now-marred features with some shock.

"What are you doing asking about me?" Thor scoffed in disbelief and reached down to brush uselessly at a bleeding wound on his brother's head. "I am perfectly well. But you..." the blonde trailed off with a tight smile, running a hand fondly through the dark hair. "We are going to get you out of here, brother. Do you have any idea what damage you've taken?"

Loki wheezed out a small chuckle, which more sounded like a coughing fit. He couldn't hold the one lone tear that slid down his face as he gently lent his face into his brothers hand, just so glad to have the warm and loving contact he thought he'd never feel again. "I-I'm sorry..." Loki murmured softly. "I was so...so scared I'd never see the light of day again..." He confessed sadly, still nuzzling besides his brother just to feel something besides the pain that was racking his lower torso which was still buried.

"I-I do not know the extent of damage but by what I could barely see...it is not well. Especially for my left leg which looks to have taken most of the d-damage...I'm pinned down by a boulder that is the biggest problem." His breath hitched as he gave out another whimper. It was becoming obviously harder to breathe since he was taking much more laboring breaths. He winced, as he clawed to his side. "Ma-Maybe a few broken bones...b-but I'm more worried about my leg...I fear it could be crushed..." Loki's head shook as he tried to block out the black dots invading his vision. "I-I cannot feel it let al-alone pull it free."

The warm smile on Thor's face faded into a more somber look as he watched his brother seize up in pain. His adventuring had indeed gone too far this time. "Don't apologize," he murmured, feeling a tightness squeezing at his throat. "This is my entire fault, Loki. I never should have dragged you to the desolate place." He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, willing himself some clarity in this mad situation.

"I promise you that you will be safe, soon. We'll be home, warm, and far from here as possible." Though he was loathe moving away, he pulled his hand back slowly and stood to survey the damage in the flickering light. He paused a moment, removing his coat and wrapping it around his brother in a gesture of... apology? Regret? The man couldn't say why, only that he felt the thing might provide some comfort. Then he looked back at the massive stone, the thing which was causing them the most grief. It was quite the formidable thing and he would be hard-pressed to shift such a thing. "I may be strong enough to lift it." His words lacked the trademark confidence. "Only, I don't want to hurt you more than you already are."

"D-Do not blame your-yourself for my misfortune...I-I simply stepped in the wrong place at th-the wrong time." Loki replied, trying to keep his brother from faulting himself when it wasn't. The younger sibling whimpered when Thor reluctantly moved away to survey the damage done. Loki gladly wrapped the coat over him; taking in his brother unique sent that was over it in comfort. He felt warmer already from laying in the chill of the planets rubble for so long. He didn't know he was shivering till it stopped somewhat with the warmth of his brother's heated coat. With a ragged sigh Loki nodded, content with more pain if needed be.

Nothing mattered now besides getting out in any way necessarily aslong as they both did. "It's alright Thor, do what you need to to get me out. We have n-no other choice anyways." He gave his brother a weak smile. "I won't feel anything any-anyways remember...my leg is numbed..." He lied skillfully. He would most definitely feel the agonizing pain, but he went through worse already and of course he wouldn't tell Thor that. This one time, the truth would be worse than a lie. "Ju-Just be quick about it...I feel faint as it is and if I-I pass out I-might not w-wake again..."

"It is most certainly my fault," he shook his head, pressing a hand to his eyes. "You told me this was a fool's errand, tried to warn me as we grew lost, and I simply thrust aside all your misgivings in favor of my taste for action." The warrior loosed a heavy exhale, white vapors stirring the air in front of him as he sighed. "Had we not been on the planet in the first place none of this might have taken place." His other hand was balled into a tight fist, knuckles white and shaking, not simply from cold, but anger. Thor rarely felt regret, hardly ever apologized for his mistakes; this time, though, was different. A life could have been lost, a precious life too. Still might be lost, all things considered. What would their mother have felt, if Thor had returned with his sibling's battered shape limp and lifeless in his arms? The thought of her pain and of Odin's grim wrath chilled the young man. He blinked, blue eyes brooding as Loki promised that there would be no worse damage were he to shift the rock fall. "...all right. Brace yourself." With a deep breath, Thor wrapped both arms as best he could around the boulder, fingers searching out a hold. With a grunt he started to lift, shoulders and muscles straining against the weight. At first he doubted he could move the thing after all, but then it began to move away from the ground and off of Loki's leg. Soon enough he had the thing away and dropped the rock down once more, now safely away from his sibling. "There... you're... free." He managed between ragged pants.

Loki stayed quiet as his brother ranted and rambled on about how it was his fault and he had to agree...yeah, it kinda was, well mostly. "Yes Brother, you may have carried on and ignored my pleas to turn back but it still isn't your fault for this. You did not force me to step where I stood. It was completely by accident. Unavoidable for me and unpredictable for the both of us. You not to blame for me falling into this cave nor is it mine. It was just a gamble of bad luck I suppose." When his brother finally calmed himself he gave a nod, readying himself for what was to come. Slowly but surly the the massive stone began to pull off pressure on his leg.

So not to startle his brother, he bit his lip to contain the howls he so desperately wanted to scream, withering inwardly as the tormenting pain that was unleashed. He bit down so hard to that blood began to ribbon down his bottom lip, slowly trickling down to his chin. He shut his eyes tightly, trying to stop the onslaught of tears that wanted to break free. He knew it would take about a few hundred healing spells to heal off this much damage...finally his leg was free, and to Loki's luck it was still connected to his body, though broken and crooked as it may have been, Loki figured that it was fixable with time. "Th-Thank you..." Loki mustered out just as out of breath as Thor. Loki was still looking sickly and pale, his eyes drooping dangerously out of exhaustion.

Moving the stone had been more taxing than Thor had first believed in would be, and it took more than a few moments to gather his breath once more, chest heaving as he sucked in fresh gulps of the air which - once frigid - now felt pleasantly cool on hard-worked muscles. He was braced on his knees, and even when he stood and took a few hesitant steps he could still feel his arms trembling. "Are you sure that didn't -" he broke off with a sharp inhalation, rushing forward as he realized his brother was even worse for wear than he'd first thought.

"Loki, do not dare close your eyes, now is not the time for sleep." He dropped beside the other Prince, pulling gently as he could and cradling his sibling's head in his lap. Peering down the drawn-in face, a frown tugged on Thor's lips, and he softly brushed the now bloodied lower lip.

"It did hurt to remove that thing, didn't it?" He asked quietly, he looked his brother in the eyes, not daring to glance at the mangled leg.

Loki could feel movement; he could hear his brother's booming and panicked command which easily awoke him and his raven colored eyelashes fluttered more open to obey. Emerald eyes looked upwards to his elder brother's worn and worried gaze. He felt warm now in his brother's arms which was only making him all the sleepier. With a groan Loki could no longer lie to Thor and not feel guilty about it. "Y-Yes..." he whispered, looking away ashamed to admitting his lie. "M'sorry...I-I lied to he-help you. I knew it would take a lot mo-more convincing if I told you-you the truth..." The younger Asgardian squeak, as his eyes watered over again with another sharp pain. "M'so tired br-other..." Loki slurred, his green gaze hazing and clouding over dangerously. "C-Can we go home now...?" He asked in a fading whisper. Behind them the small orb of light began to flicker and fizzle, the magic within it becoming draining to keep strong.

In spite of the situation, the blonde felt the barest of smiles forming slightly as his brother looked away with a slight look of shame glimmering in those jade orbs. Thor truly couldn't have been too surprised that Loki had lied about something even down here. He was the Liesmith after all, and it would be poor show if a dire situation was all it took to curb that silver tongue. He understood the Prince's logic, though. No doubt Thor would have refused to touch the boulder had he been sure the other would have felt a worse pain as it was removed. And then they would still be stuck in a dark pit - well they, were, still stuck in a dark pit, at least now they could be mobile. "Please Loki, don't give up now. We're so close to home." He gave his shoulders a rough shake, tone sharp and pleading as he noted the magic dying in the orb. He didn't want to move the younger sibling, and yet what else was there for him to do?

"I'm sorry if this hurts, Loki, but we must keep moving. Speak, don't sleep. Talk about what mischief making you have plans for when we get back to Asgard." He slipped his arms beneath Loki, lifting the other with the least jostling possible and started to work his way down the tunnel, which he could now see went on for some time in either direction.

Loki obeyed again, keeping his eyes as open as they could get and focusing on staying alert and aware. The small shocks of pain that rattled from his leg an out through the rest of his body wasn't such a bad thing after all. Though painful every little movement was, it kept him from falling asleep and even to his displeasure it was the only thing that kept him from death at the moment. Loki didn't protest his brother's movements as he gently picked up the broken heap which was his brother.

He sighed and if it was in any other situation he would whine and complain, pouting childishly at the fact that he was Prince of Asgard and he was not do not amused with being carried like some child. His pride and dignity meant more to him then Thor would ever suspect. This time though he was oddly quiet for someone who was normally talking away. He would make an exception just this one. As they walked the orb of light followed, giving them their much needed light to find their way. Loki gently laid his head against his brother's shoulder, looking up at Thor with adoration and a proud feeling for him. He could only wish to be as strong as Thor was. To take his mind off of things Loki gave his brother the blessing of hearing him chuckle softly. A small laugh that for once didn't feel as forced. "I have many plans on getting you back for this dear brother. I suggest you carry around a shield for the next couple of days...you'll be needing it." Loki smirked and nudged his brother with his elbow weakly. Even in a situation like this he could still jest with Thor, only to bring the elder of the two some comfort and to ease his worry.

Thor's eyes traced along the sides of the cavern walls as he walked, arms occupied with the - thankfully light - weight of his brother whom he was attempting to leave as undisturbed as possible. He fixed a smile on his face, hiding the worry of just how they were to get out. It was wasn't as though he could scale up the wall the same way he'd come down. That would have been impractical were Loki only mildly tossed about, and it was rendered quite impossible by the pale man's current state. There was simply no way that he could toss his brother over one shoulder and climb a sheer cliff. There were too many risks and Thor, though skilled in many ways, was certainly not that talented. "Of course you do," he gave a warm chuckle of his own, the smile becoming a little less plastic.

"I would expect no less. No doubt I will be checking my bed, my food; all my surroundings for any manner of dangerous object or creature." The warrior readjusted his hold on Loki, looking down at the younger with a faint grin. "I suppose I can't blame you. I won't be mysteriously transported to Helheim will I?" Perhaps it was just imagination, but the floor beneath him seemed to be sloping ever so slightly upwards.

The broken brother found it comforting to hear the soft rumble in Thor's chest as he chuckled. It sounded soft but strong as a roll of thunder would sound, vibrating Loki's ear which lay beside the man's shoulder. "Hmm...I shall make sure you never see it coming till it's too late." Loki's eyes glinted shortly with amusement as he gave whispered chuckle. "Maybe not Helheim but somewhere close to that...how about up a dragons nostril...I sure hope I don't accidently sneeze with you still in it." Loki teased lightly. His body was shaky and sore by now. He could feel the aching in his back and side but most importantly he still hadn't been able to feel his leg. Loki had been workings on twitching it, to gain some movement of it but to no avail. He was glad though that it still pulsated with pain, which meant it was amendable and wasn't a dead limb completely yet. He frowned finally realizing that something was off.

"Br-Brother...do you know where we're going?" He asked, cocking his head sideways to look up curiously upwards at Thor.

"Ugh." Thor gave a shudder at the mental image, lost somewhere between disgust at the thought of being lodged inside the snout of one of the scaly reptiles and horror at the idea of being launched out with a magnificent sneeze by same said creature. "That's quite ambitious. I think I might rather have Helheim... might." The Prince was happy his sibling could still find the energy to joke and tease, at least it would seem any threat of the man drifting into nothingness had been thoroughly staved off by a combination of conversation and movement. Anything to keep their minds off what was still a rather bad place to be in at the time.

"How're you feeling?" The Aesir felt the need to ask, feeling a faint tremble beneath his brother's clothing. "The travel's not too rough is it?" He glanced down with concern, suddenly the doting mother bear, which was an odd feeling for Thor. Though he tried to distract, it was clear Loki could still grasp the gravity of their situation in spite of blood loss and pain. The blonde faltered for a moment, debating over whether or not he should lie. "I, ah..." No, a master of weaving tales would see a lie straight off. "No, not completely. I'm just going off instinct and the fact that this tunnel only has one horizontal path large enough for a man to use." He admitted with a slight shrug. "I can't exactly climb the walls like I did on the way in."

Loki stifled a soft giggle at his brothers reaction to the idea. "Come now, you know it would be quiet the tale to tell to the Warrior Three and Lady Sif. How you were shot out like some canon from a beast's nose. I would find that more amusing then anything. Yes, every fair maiden would be swooning at such an adventurous tale like that." He was about to chuckle again when he was interrupted by the pain again this time to his out of place ribs. Wincing he pulled and clawed at his side, once again finding breath hard to catch. With a squeal Loki squirmed unhappily in Thor's arms still finally maneuvering himself in a better position and off his side closest to Thor's hand. Loki's face now was buried deep against Thor's chest, now laying half sideways in the the blondes hands. He answered his brothers question in a grumbled and sarcastic

"...F-Fine." . Loki glared lightly at his brother then only rolled his eyes and groaned. "You have no-no idea where you're going? You c-could be very fell leading us further down..."

"A fine tale indeed." Thor smirked, stepping forward regally as he could burdened as he was with another man in his arms. "And thus, Thor the God of Thunder escaped the dragon in a shower of fire, brimstone, and mucus." A booming laugh made its way from Thor's chest. Of course you would find it amusing, you cad." He was about to continue, but cut off in dismay at a sudden thrashing on his brother's part. The man nearly lost his grip on Loki as he squirmed and shuffled about in his hold, a look of pain flashing across the pale face. He grinned, more weakly this this time as the movement came to a halt and he squared his shoulders to better accommodate the new position. Somber though their position was there was something comical in the way Loki was now settled. "I thought you might be doing a strange spell?" He offered abashedly. Perhaps the question had been dumb, but Thor never did parade about proclaiming his wit. That was Loki's strong point. "I don't believe we're going downward. Hopefully not, anyways. Besides, have you any better suggestion?" He tried to keep his tone level, but a sharpness entered his voice all the same. "Would you rather I try to toss you up to the top of the cavern?"

"Oh joy, for you have a tittle for the tale already." Loki joked weakly with a roll of his dim eyes. Loki was curling up tightly in his brothers arms, muffling a groan of pain into Thor's chest quietly. "No you twit," Loki squeaked out. "I j-just wanted to get off my side...something must be broken...my r-ribs feel out of pl-place and I fear they are too cl-close for comfort ne-near my lungs..." As if on Que, his hissed, shutting his eyes tightly and coughing painfully against Thor. With a hitch of ragged and shallow breath, more blood seemed to ooze its way down Loki's thin, pale lips, lightly splotching the fabric of Thor's clothing as it did. Slowly Loki's eyes opened up to see what he had done. With an apologetic stare he murmured a ramble of Sorry's and bowed his head in shame, hating how vulnerable and weak he was at the moment. If it wasn't his leg, his back, his head or his side it was always something else. He could hear the sharpness and frustration in his brothers voice, making him flinch but this time not out of pain of the physical type. "No..I would rather you simply leave me here to die and save father the agony of having the burning of two of his dead sons rather than one..." Loki whispered silently.

Thor could feel the fear building up in his chest as Loki's pained moaning grew more frequent, stomach tying itself in knots as he listened near helplessly to the struggles. It wasn't that he'd meant to snap, only he was growing considerably more frustrated with the fact that he could do little more than cradle his potentially dying brother gently in his arms and keep moving forward. He'd never been particularly envious of Loki's ability with magic, though there were times where he could see how spells came in handy, only now he was wishing that he could use some healing arts and give the younger sibling at least a small patching up. He grew more dismayed as fresh blood landed on his clothes, color draining slightly from his face; he tightened his grip around the other Prince.

"I will not leave you here." Although the words were spoken towards Loki they rang out with the finality of a self-imposed promise. "No one is dying today, Loki." As he spoke the Thor sped up, moving quick as he dared along the path. "I just feel so damned useless. And here you are apologizing as though this were a fault of yours." He shot a look towards the globe of light. So long as that thing still burned he knew Loki was safe.

"Thor..." Loki murmured softly, his eyes, though barley able to see, watched his brothers determined glare and felt the sudden boost in speed. "Thor if-if it comes down to it...y-you may just have to leave me...I will not let you fight a losing battle. I can't let you die too..." He whispered, nuzzling close against his brothers chest. "Th-They will not mind my passing...it's yours I'm sure Mother and Father would most grieve over..." The younger gods head limply fell tiredly, no longer able to support looking up at Thor. "Y-You must promise...you must tell me that if you don't find a way out soon...you'll go back th-the way you came and you w-will climb back up..."

Loki wheezed again, his face growing paler but still able to give off a slight smile. "You c-can come back with help...who kn-knows. I might even be alive when y-you do..." The dark haired brother shook his head. With his free hand, the one that wasn't rigidly holding onto his side, he gently placed it on his brother's chest, patting it softly. "Thor, you are m-many things...but you are most defiantly not useless...never dare speak like that again. Y-You are lucky I myself cannot pull your hammer, or I'd smack you upside the head with it..." Loki chuckled painfully, but ignoring it. "I apologize because I-I know that I'm hurting you by being in this st-state...I know I would be just as pained if the roles were opposite...I hate to know that I am the core of y-your suffering hence why I please fo-for your forgiveness in doing so..."

Thor tried to shut out the words, the same way he did during their scholarly lessons which bored him so, he couldn't bear to hear his brother's voice. The way it wheezed and strained as he spoke, he must have been hurting himself more do deliver such a speech were his ribs cracked and broken as Loki presumed. He gritted his teeth, jaw set as he listened, the God could feel the stinging in his eyes, pinpricks threatened to well up into tears. "I can't lose you, brother I just... it cannot happen. You are a part of me as much as I am you," his voice was rough, thick with restrained tears as he spoke in denial of all the dark-haired man claimed. He'd halted, the cavern in front of him blurring while Loki persisted in making himself sound expendable.

"If I were to leave you I know for certain I wouldn't come back to your snarking and sarcasm." He swallowed tightly, hugging the brother to his chest. "Please, it must hurt you to speak don't push yourself." That was only part of the reason Thor made the request, the other being his inability to take the words anymore. "I must be a -" He broke off, sudden hope in his gaze and he looked down excitedly. "That's it, Loki, the hammer!" Carefully moving Loki as best he could into one arm, the God of Thunder scrambled for Mjolnir, wrenching the weapon from his belt.

Loki stopped speaking, his voice dissolving away like a candle fire going out. Though he went silent not for the reasons Thor may have thought. The only reason he did fall quiet and didn't make a comment about thinking of Mjolnir so late was because with strain of his words had finally caught up to his tired form. Intact he didn't hear one single word Thor had uttered. He was slipping and slipping fast. Loki's orb pulsated it's light in warning to the blonde brother. For the very moment Thor cried out about the hammer was also the same moment the orb or light began to dimmer in unison with the speed of Loki's eyes. It's once strong glow was fading, a representative of how much time Loki had to live. Loki's hand which rested against Thor's chest fell away limply; the man's breathing becoming nothing but a shudder of air from a slowly dying body. Loki's body had gone through too much too fast and now it was buckling under the strain. With a moment of awareness Loki flickered his once emerald now forest green iris to Thor.

"B-Brother..." He whispered brokenly before letting his eyelids continue closing down his darkening eyes.
