Too Late

One-shot

A/N: Please don't kill me, I know I'm not exactly that good at writing

She stared at her best friend's grave. The way his hair ruffled in the November wind, the way he laughed when Hagrid came up to them. The way he always tried to make things better when she was sad. Those things she loved.

She would always remember the times they spent in potions, just sitting there annoying Snape. She would always remember the way he jumped to her rescue when Draco Malfoy insulted her. Those things she would never forget.

It would never go right for her, and she knew it. She watched helplessly while he fell in love – with the girl in Ravenclaw. It was then she knew it was over. Cho loved him, and he loved her. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she liked someone else.

Viktor Krum. He came along, and for once, she felt loved. It was true that he wasn't the one she loved, but what choice did she have? Even though she had Viktor, her heart belonged to him.

She didn't forget him, not even when she was going out with Viktor. She would wish, dream, pray to be with him. But those things now she could never do. Even though she knew the truth.

Voldemort. He killed him. The one she ever truly loved. He died killing Voldemort. He died saving every wizard and witch in the world. He was a hero. But he never knew, he never knew that he had always been her hero.

She didn't know how he felt. She didn't know. Not until she read the will, and at the bottom, in small print it read – 'I love you, Hermione. I always will…'

She stared at the gravestone. Just staring –

'I love you too, Harry Potter,' she whispered into the cold windy night.

A/N: I know this is kind of short. Pardon me. I don't have the time to write an ultra-long one, sorry!
