Thirst
The air chills as the water seems to beckon to me
Like a siren I bend to take a sip
And become more Thirsty soon parched
I drink; I drink but am never satisfied
It is sweet and comforts but I am never satisfied
I want more and more until I open my eyes
And find the water black; Black as the abyss
And oozing a putrid smell that had bypassed my senses
Till now, it is all I can do to
Keep from vomiting but my body beckons
Me to drink more
I look for escape but find none as I
Bend to drink again, a glisten out of the corner
Of my sight shines like the noon day star
I look to see a tiny shell with a
Morsel of clear water
"Don't," I bend to pick it up
"Don't," I raise it to my lips
"DON'T," I take a sip
Thirst gone, body revitalized I see
The exit "Come back" It whispered
"Drink"
No
