My Fellow Sherlock Holmes Fans,

After reading the attached piece of writing I'm afraid that my own words are inadequate to describe it to you. So I shall use Watson's email to help clarify certain matters:

Once again, I ask your forgiveness for the lateness of this narrative. I have been told that my credit card will arrive shortly and I have become immensely curious about the stories people have been writing about Holmes and I. At the moment, I refuse to comment on them.

The account that follows is a bit different than the others. I would hesitate to use the word journal because Holmes is so disorganized (he is now demanding that I take that out) in certain areas of his life ("That doesn't make it any better, Watson!") and so busy solving cases with his amazing powers of deduction ("Flattery will not help, old man.") that his "journal" would never be able to be found!

Why Holmes wrote this is a mystery I will never be able to solve, but I include it in this compilation not only because it shows a side of Holmes not normally seen but it also shows a few shades of how Holmes was slowly sinking into depression...and what was to come...

Most sincerely yours,

Scarlett Red Rose
