The Doctor came to a full stop and stared. He never forgot a face, especially not the one he looked at in the mirror just about every day. However...
"No, no, no! This is all wrong!" the Doctor said waving an arm to indicate both the other man's outfit and the curls that had just enough red in them to turn them strawberry rather than golden blond.
The other him turned and gave him a withering glare.
"Unlike some people,' the other him who also shared his voice said snidely. "I like to blend in."
"Blend in? Blend in? You look like you're going to a funeral!" the Doctor exclaimed as he made a gesture that encompassed the man's clothing which was both entirely black and sadly bereft of one of his beloved cat pins.
The other him just scowled at him, turned and continued walking. Not having anything better to do, he turned and followed his double, telling himself that he was trying to figure out what sort of plot was afoot since the other him couldn't possibly be him because. Eventually, the two of them reached a TARDIS whose exterior was such a dark blue that it was almost black. When they reached the TARDIS, the other him turned, stood in front of the closed doors, and barred him from entering.
"What are you hiding in there?" he asked.
"Nothing," the other him replied moodily. "I just know that if I let you inside, you're just going to say IT.
Overcome by his curiosity, the Doctor sighed and said "I promise that I won't make that comment in regards to any renovations you've made to the TARDIS, even if it looks like the lair of an Emo Goth."
"Fine." the other him sighed as he unlocked the TARDIS door and entered, moving aside to allow him in.
There was a long pause after the Doctor entered the TARDIS and tried and failed to process the interior of the Console room several times.
"What the bloody hell did you do to the TARDIS?! It looks like it got hit by an explosion in a rainbow factory!"
