Dean's gaze slid sideways to his brother's hunched form as they stumbled through the darkened woods. Exhaustion had dogged their steps all day and he wasn't sure which of them would drop first.
Sam's first nightmare had awakened him thrashing and screaming - the ruckus tearing Dean from his bed, knife in hand. Sam eventually managed to doze off again, but Dean knew it wasn't over. He stayed awake, ready to nudge his brother as the nightmares set in, before they got too intense.
It was a miracle they'd survived the hunt relatively unscathed. Warm beds were calling their names.
