Oh yeah, I'm going back to one shots. At least, for now. Until I get the spark into writing full stories again. And a prequel\ sequal of "Stuck in the Closet" is coming soon. This is my first RWBY fanfic, and I had this fanfic in thought ever sience someone commented, "The moment when Ruby and Weiss locked eyes is still one of the best moments in the show", and I personally agree. This is really short and... maybe cliche' \ generic, but... at least readable. So... enjoy!
Ruby was still running around the forest, trying to find someone, anyone, to be her partner. She already went through her head that, other than her sister Yang, Jaune or Blake could be her partner. But... she already found faults in both of them:
Jaune would proably not be the best in combat, and holding a conversation with Blake would be almost impossible.
She groans in her head, shaking her head as she runs. 'Okay... Who else do I know in this school? There's Yang, Jaune, Blake, aaaand..'Ruby skits to a hault unintetionally. Weiss, hearing the soft, but loud enough to hear, noise, turned around to face the person who made it, just in time for Ruby to stop.
Rasing her head up, Ruby saw nothing but Weiss staring at her. But it wasn't in anger or annoyance like when she blew up Dust Weiss had when they first met, it was most likely in shock. She also saw something in those eyes Ruby haven't seen ever sience she met Weiss:
Kindness.
'Argh, this dolt again! Why do every time I turn a corner, she's always the person I see?! This is getting annoying!' Weiss thought angrily.
It only took some time for Weiss to notice that the only thing in her vision was silver eyes.
'Argh! Why is this idiot staring at me!? I know I'm beautiful and important, but even I get tired of being stared at!' Weiss yelled in her head.
''Wait a minute, why am I still standing here?! How can I still see this dolt staring at me perfectly?'She moved her black pupils slightly, seeing that Ruby did the same. Oh my god. She was staring at-
No. She wouldn't admit that she was staring at this dolt.
Weiss broke the eye contact between the two, turned on her heel, and walked away.
"Wait! Where are you going?!" Ruby yelled, following Weiss slighly. When Weiss was brefily out of sight, Ruby stopped and kicked the ground sadly.
"Were supposed to be teammates..." she mumbled in a really low tone.
Weiss almost cringed at that. Almost. She heard the sad tone in Ruby's voice, something she had never heard in someone as chipper as the girl in red. But, of course, she stubbornly shook this out of her head, trying to feel annoyed about the branches in her way, but deep down, she knew that she didn't care.
Suddenly, she sees Jaune hanging a few feet in the air, the spear on his hood. He looks down at Weiss, giving her a nervous chuckle.
Weiss now had two options: She could either go with Ruby or Jaune. Everything in her said to go with Ruby, but why? Both Ruby and Jaune were equally annoying, so why did she want to choose the first annoying person she met sience she came here?
Trying not to give it much thought, Weiss simply walked away, hearing a soft groan from Jaune, but she didn't care.
She passess by Ruby, pulling the young girl by her hood.
"By no means does this make us friends," Weiss commented, not knowing that this was a start to a beautiful friendship.
