Honestly it could have been worse.
For a job he found on Craigslist it was relatively normal, ya know besides the whole they'd kill him if he tried to quit or talk about his job thing. But hey, it paid the bills; it was pretty quiet, nothing really crazy happened. Well Geoff did torture that one guy using his jumper cables last week.
It was a nice gig really, all he did was clean the guns, fix a couple cars, and maybe hack into some things; totally legit work. Ok maybe the hacking was a bit sketchy and the cars were questionable. Not that it bothered him; Ryan was a pretty chill guy after all.
Then one day Geoff asks him to take care of a rival crew, and well, he does. A bit messy part of it, but again, Ryan is a pretty chill guy. To be fair the chainsaw might have been a little extreme and maybe the fire stuff too. Geoff's reaction to his work is just a little surprising though.
"WAIT YOU DID WHAT?"
"I took care of 'em, like you asked."
Geoff gives him a confused look; he doesn't remember asking Ryan to do anything not involving their gear on any occasion.
"Like I asked?" Geoff says, "I didn't ask you to wipe out an e entire gang!"
"Sure ya did," Ryan replies, "just yesterday you were talking about 'em and you told me to take care of it,"
Geoff thinks back, trying to recall the conversation. The only thing he remembers involving the other crew is bitching about them to Jack, then he…
"I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE NEW CARS WE LIFTED, THE BRAKES WERE SHOT!"
"Ooooh, that makes more sense now that I think about it,"
"Jesus, Ryan's bloody mental," says the British guy with the giant nose they hired on recently. G-somethin, Garry? George? Eh he'll think of it eventually. Maybe after the whole 'oops murdered a lot of people accidentally' thing blows over.
"Uh maybe we've been paying him for the wrong thing," Jack says.
Well Ryan wouldn't be opposed to that, last night was surprisingly cathartic, and maybe he'd get a raise too.
