Hal appeared to be browsing through papers, but he was secretly thinking about
the Snicket File. He was convinced that he somehow recognized the kids that had
come to work for him but he couldn't place them exactly. Hal was brought out of his
thoughts by the sound of a man singing "fa la la, fiddle dee dee, hope you get well soon"
and noticed a man with a shoulder-length blond hair covered by a cowboy hat, a bushy
mustache that looked like he had a squirrel tail taped to his upper lip, and a leather jacket
carrying some heart-shaped balloons. The man suddenly noticed Hal and asked "so how are
the children working for you?" But Hal was distracted by what appeared to be a collection of
papers inside a shoulder-bag the man was carrying and tried reaching for the papers, thinking
"my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but I swear this man has the Snicket File." He managed
to grab the file and began flipping through it before looking at the man and said "my eyesight
isn't what it used to be, but I can tell that we don't have this file", "that's because that isn't a
file", replied the blond man, "that's a Playboy."
