A.n./: this one will be short. My apologies.

There are two types of people in this world. Those who can look at themselves every morning and those who can't. I didn't look into mirrors. I learned from childhood that the less I looked the less I could see.

Hogwarts was a welcome distraction. I pulled on a pair of leather gloves before shook my fathers hand, struggling under his gaze, and I tightened my jacket around my frame before embracing my mother. She was so excited that I'd be graduating this year that she spoke of nothing else for the past two weeks.

"Do well," she demanded, "and do see if you can't steal Valedictorian right from under that bushy haired Granger's nose, won't you?" She also had an unhealthy obsession with Granger. I watched a familiar head of dark hair board the train, a small auburn haired girl followed him quickly, speaking easily.

"I'll do my best mother." I assured her. With one last hug I was off. Granger sat with Weasley and Weaslette. She spared me an awkward half smile. I spared her none. In the next cubby was Severus and Lily. Their cabin was empty aside from the two of them. Severus was creepy, that much I understood. His eyes were dark like coal and he always wore a pained expression. It looked as if he were mere moments from 'Avada Kedavra'ing himself. I continued down the line until I could slide into an uninhabited cabin. I cast a quick cleaning spell on the seats before I sat, letting my head rest on the headrest.

The cabin door opened hours later and I jolted awake.

"Do you mind?" Potter stood alone, a book in hand, "I just need to sit somewhere quiet is all." I motioned for the seat opposite me, but I did not doze again. I kept my head low and my eyes peeled. Blinking gave me a panic attack. I watched him until the train slowed. Then and only then did I avert my gaze. It was time. I swallowed my anxiety and plastered only trademark smirk.

"See you in the great hall Pot Head." I called. I was cautious of the other students, going through extreme lengths to ensure there were no accidental brushes. Granger ran her shoulder into my arm as she rushed past me. I stared at my bicep in horror. I consistently told myself that I was okay, that she shoulder couldn't harm me anymore than her hair could. I tried to make light out of a terrible situation, but all I could see were hands. I took a trembling breath and pushed forward. A little hot water and I'd be okay.

I skipped dinner in favor of scrubbing. My skin was blistered and red by the time I emerged from the shower.

"You skipped dinner," Severus said, "so I brought you some. Are you...okay?" He eyed my blistered skin.

"I'm fine," I barked, "and I don't want your pity half blood." I climbed into bed, warding the curtains and silencing the area around my bed. When I was satisfied I lay on my back for hours. The lights went off one by one. It wasn't until the last boy fell asleep that my muscles loosened and I drifted off.
