They're all dead. They were trapped inside. And it was my fault.

Just before the explosion, I ran away. Away from the office building, away from the noise, away from the ashes. The ashes of all my friends. Even Max.

With no destination in mind, I ran as far as my legs would carry me. I just had to get away from the place.

But where to, Fang?

Anywhere. Anywhere would be better than this. A world without Max was is a hell.

A world without Max was is a hell.

Instantly, I knew what I needed to do.

Coming to a halt in the middle of the street, I extended my arm. Reaching down, I drew my knife.

I recalled all my memories of Max: her adorable face, our first kiss, our breakup, our reunion. As the memories began to overwhelm me, I lifted the knife and set it on my chest.

Feeling my sorrow take over, I made my decision.

Plunging the knife into my heart, I remembered Max's last words:

I love you, Fang. Promise you'll never leave me.

I love you too, Max. And I intend to keep that promise. Even in death.

We'll be together forever, Max.
