Prompt: gummy bears

Jessica had never been the snuggle down on the couch with a boyfriend and neck while watching a movie kind of girl. She'd never really been a movie type of girl for that matter. She didn't really like sitting still that much. There were some movies, few and far between, that she could watch a million times and sit calmly through all of them. She doubted that i Howard and Kumar go to Uzbekistan/i or whatever the hell the title was, would be that type of movie, but she figured when she got too bored she could coax Adam into a little kissing.

She'd been seeing Adam for two months and though they'd been taking it slow she was sure she was in love with him. He was so…sweet and kind, and fucking hot. She just wasn't sure how he felt about her.

And she was too scared to ask.

"Here you go," he said, setting a giant bowl of popcorn on his coffee table, with two glasses of soda before handing her a bowl.

"What are these?" she asked, then looked down, "Gummy bears," she smiled as she grabbed one, then she looked again, "but…they're all red."

He nodded, "You only like the red ones."

She blinked a few times. It was true, she only like the red ones, but "How did you know that?"

He shrugged like it was no big deal, "You always pick out the red ones and leave the rest. I noticed."

"So you…you bought a bag with just red ones."

"No," he said, then blushed a little, "I, uh, they don't sell them like that so I bought a few bags and pulled out the red ones. Hey look, it's the previews. I love the previews."

Adam watched the screen, carefully not looking at her.

She, on the other hand, couldn't stop looking at him. He remembered that she only liked the red ones. It was so…romantic, how could gummy bears be romantic?

Then she was leaning over and kissing him and pressing him back on the couch and she forgot about the movie and gummy bears and anything but him.

Much later Adam's hands slid through her hair as she lay across his body, "Wow," he said, "I was…not expecting that. I thought that we were waiting, not that I'm complaining, because I'm not, because wow, but I'm just wondering…"

She smiled and leaned up to kiss him softly before saying simply, "Gummy bears."

Adam, not really sure what the hell had happened, but too happy to care that much shrugged and said, "Okay," and reached over for some gummy bears. He was perfectly happy to feed them to her all night long.
